Another excellent Phryne mystery! She sure has a knack for collecting strays and kicking booty!

#AugustABC #Day7 #GorgeousGirl Could only manage a few chapters of my book, heads still a bit sensitive, so I‘m gonna try & catch up on some challenges instead. Miss Phryne definitely fits the prompt for the 7th, she‘s ballsy, she‘s brave, she‘s elegant & she‘s most certainly gorgeous. If you haven‘t acquainted yourself with book Phryne yet, I highly recommend you do so. She‘s fabulous & fantastic. #phryneappreciationclub

kspenmoll Gorgeous cover! Such a fun series; I need to get back to it! 4mo
Eggs Beautiful! And great choice 4mo
Lizpixie @kspenmoll definitely worth it👍 @Eggs thank you!🙌♥️♥️♥️ 4mo

Charming and fun as expected from a Phryne book. I enjoyed that she was on multiple cases in this book and the way it switched back and forth between the two. Perfect for when you need a quick read!

5. HOW DO YOU ORGANISE YOUR SHELVES?-Alphabetical then Chronological.

TheWordJar I‘d love to go to Scotland, too! Answer to number 5—I don‘t. 😬😳🙈 8mo
TheLibrarian Organized sort of randomly? I don‘t have enough shelf space and purchase too many books that it makes it hard to organize them. I do keep series and books by the same together. (edited) 8mo
cobwebmoth I don't currently have shelves. My bedroom floor is filled with stacks of books. I really do want to organize them, though. 8mo

CouronneDhiver By spine colour... rainbow shelves are fun! 8mo
Susannah Great question! Mine are chronological, then alphabetical for fiction; and chronological by time period for nonfiction. 8mo
AsYouWish I don‘t really organize mine. I just try to find places on the shelf for new books. 8mo

I‘m a BIG fan of Miss Fisher‘s Murder Mysteries and have been going through a major withdrawal awaiting the film to conclude the series so I figured I‘d give the books a shot. I love the descriptions of the clothing and little details that build the atmosphere of Australia in the 20‘s. Phryne is a force to be reckoned with, as all who meet her soon learn, and her head for adventure and can do spirit puts her in precarious but exciting situations.

CrowCAH Welcome to the Litsy family!!! 📚 8mo
Lynnsoprano The books are as much fun as the show 😄 We even have a #Phrynefanclub here on Litsy! 8mo

Jumping into #aussieapril with this book, hosted by SixMinsforMe and AllDBooks on YouTube. I was suspicious that it may not be called an Australian book, but Kate at The Novel Nomad on BookTube calls it Australian, so who am I to argue? Really excited to try to read some new -to-me authors from that part of the world. Any Australian authors or books that I simply must read? Anyone else joining in?

umbrellagirl I‘m looking for novels set in Australia to bring when I visit in July. So far I‘ve got 8mo
HardcoverHearts @umbrellagirl I got a lot of great suggestions on my IG account- including Jane Harper (The Dry), Tim Winton, Claire Coleman, and specifically 2 recs for Boy Swallows Universe. Where are you going in Australia? 8mo
Centique Oh wow I must recommend Peter Carey too and an indigenous author‘s memoir for you which is excellent 8mo

Centique And also @CarolynM is my go-to for all things Australian! Any reccs Carolyn? 8mo
RadicalReader Congrats on your booktube channel wishing you lots of luck on it and filled with memorable content 8mo
HardcoverHearts @RadicalReader Thank you so much! I‘m thrilled that so many Littens have checked it out. I‘m blessed to be a part of two great reading communities. 8mo
HardcoverHearts @Centique - Fantastic! I will check those out. Keep any ideas coming. Only 15 days left! 8mo
CarolynM @Centique you are flattering me again. I've just sent you some books, hope you will like them. There are so many Australian authors I could recommend but I will stick to a few favourites Joan London (especially The Golden Age and Gilgamesh), Helen Garner, Frank Moorhouse, Peter Goldsworthy, Georgia Blain's Between a Wolf and a Dog, Jessica Anderson (especially Tirra Lirra by the River), Gillian Mears, Steven Carroll, Fiona Capp, Melissa Lucashenko (edited) 8mo
CarolynM All the above are at the more literary end. If you like crime try Peter Temple, Garry Disher, Shane Maloney (a particular favourite of mine), Leigh Redhead, Marele Day, Sulari Gentill. 8mo
Centique @CarolynM you sent me some books? Oh gosh I owe you some books! I‘ve been thinking what I should send you 💕 I‘m taking note of all these great Aussie reccs too! 8mo
HardcoverHearts @Centique This list is remarkable. I‘m going to see which ones I can find on Scribd or the library. Thank you so much! (edited) 8mo
CarolynM @Centique You don't owe me anything, it's fun to share books I love. 8mo
CarolynM @HardcoverHearts Let me know if there's something you're interested in but can't get, I'd be happy to send you a copy. Email munchenberg at on the dot net dot au 8mo
HardcoverHearts @CarolynM that is such a kind offer!! I am looking up many of these on Book Depository, Scribd and my public libraries right now. This list is fantastic. (edited) 8mo

Drugs and #lustforlife. Well, Ms Fisher does have a humongous lust for life and there are drugs in this one. 😁
@Cinfhen @Lizpixie

Lizpixie She certainly does! #phryneappreciationclub 9mo
gradcat @Lizpixie I love Phryne Fisher!! Only ever saw the television shows, however—haven‘t read the books. And @Lizpixie actually has a Phryne club—woo hoo! 9mo
Lizpixie @gradcat I love the tv series but the books are so much better. Unless you love the Jack/Phryne sexual tension, in the books Jack has a wife & kids and Phryne has a lover called Lin Chung from Ruddy Gore onwards. And she has two adopted daughters. And Mr Butler has a Mrs Butler who is the cook.❤️ 9mo

gradcat @Lizpixie Wow—those are pretty big differences. Thanks for advising me! ❤️ 9mo
Lizpixie @gradcat you really need to read the books, they‘re fantastic. 9mo
gradcat @Lizpixie Okay—you‘ve convinced me—stacked!! 😂😂😂 9mo

Walked into the city this morning. Beautiful day, but it has got quite hot this afternoon. Photo is the Hotel Windsor on Spring Street. For the Phrynne Fisher fans, this is where she stayed when she returned to Melbourne in the first book Cocaine Blues. #LitsyWalkers

Joanne1 Hubby and I stayed there earlier this year. There was an issue with our first room so we were upgraded to a suite. It was the fanciest thing I‘ve ever done. 10mo
CarolynM @Joanne1 Oh wow, lucky you! I stayed there years ago when I lived in Canberra. It was beautiful but faded then. 10mo
Kaye Beautiful ! 10mo

Joanne1 @CarolynM it‘s still a bit (more) faded but I kinda liked the charm of that. It‘s pretty cheap at the moment because they‘re renovating I believe. 10mo
LeahBergen It‘s so pretty! 10mo
LouiseWalters Beautiful hotel 10mo
Lizpixie I looked up pictures of what it looked like in the 1920s when she would‘ve stayed there and it was fabulous. So glad to hear they‘ve renovated instead of selling it off. #phryneappreciationclub 10mo
batsy Beautiful! 10mo
erzascarletbookgasm Thanks for sharing. I remember the part about Phryne Fisher. It‘s beautiful. 10mo
LeeRHarry I stayed there as a treat to myself on Dec 23 one year as I had to work next day 😔 work is only up the road ! 10mo
readordierachel Looks like a gorgeous day (and building)! 10mo

#MusicalNewYear #day10 #Cabaret This is one of my favourite Phryne stories, not just because it involves the cabaret of Gilbert & Sullivan, but because it introduces the lovely Lin Chung into Phrynes life. Against the backdrop of the singing & acting farce of Ruddy Gore, plus the search for a ghost & a murderer, the urbane Chinese man becomes an indispensable part of Phrynes world. #phryneappreciationclub #lifeisacabaretoldchum

#BookMail Pt1 I now have the whole series in the Art Deco covers finally. They‘re all so beautiful, it‘s hard to pick a favourite but Blood And Circuses & Murder And Mendelssohn are two that I really love. Story wise though, this one, Murder In Montparnesse & Dead Mans Chest are my favourites to read. Highly recommended, the books are so much better than the tv series📺👎📖👍 #phryneappreciationclub

Texreader Gorgeous cover. I can understand why you wanted a complete set! 11mo
LauraBytheBook Hmmm I‘ve only read the first 2-3 so far. I will admit I love the Jack and Phryne storyline from the show so I‘ve found the books a bit disappointing. Maybe I should read a few more and give them another shot. 11mo
Lizpixie @KnitNread definitely keep reading! Once you get to Ruddy Gore she has a new lover that I think is better than Jack. And I do love Phryne & Jack in the show, I just think Phryne & Lin Chung are a great couple.👍 11mo
