21 #68 this started a bit slow for me but picked up the pace fairly quickly. There‘s a 2nd book. Gonna start it next.

Good thing I already ordered book two for this one. Great suspense and historical facts all over the place. This is a very hard read for me as a lot of my fathers family died in concentration camps. But I feel it is very important to remember these events and of those who helped others escape.
This book proves to be a memorable historical YA novel as it centers on Gretchen, Hitler's "niece" with a front-row seat to the ideological #Darkness descending on Germany before World War II. #ReadingResolutions
Spot number seven goes to...more than one book because I HELLA cheated on this spot but whatever...

I read 11 physical books in September along with my 6 audiobooks. Pretty good for a busy back to school month!
I took this photo with my sister on one of our snow days this year! I haven't read this book yet but I know it's about World War Two. I haven't read a good book set in that time since the book thief so I have high hopes!!

HELLO RECOMMENDS TIME:
I am looking for page turning fiction or non fiction about WW2 specifically from the European/Russian front. I've never been super interested in the Japanese front but if you have something compelling please throw it at me. Nazis are of special interest to me. I really devoured this one and would like others to read as well. TIA Littens

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It didn't blow me away, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would definitely recommend it to fans of historical fiction, especially during the WW2 era. The only things that I didn't like were that I felt that the romance was a bit cheesy, and the majority of the characters I didn't particularly like, probably because of the whole Nazi thing. Other than that, I thought this was a great book!
This book was so good! I had so many emotions with it. Part of the book I was in tears. This story is about Hitler's niece finding out the truth about him. This story is taking place when Hilter is making his party. The Niece makes friends with a Jew learns who the real monsters are. I saw on Goodreads there's one more book to the story. I loved it! #histrical #history #holocaust #bookshop #book #kindle #library #booklover #kindlefire
I'm loving this story so much so far. This story is about Hitler's niece. She helps a Jew. Also learning what Hilter is really about. It's a historical novel. World War 2 is really interesting reading about. I always find it important to read about history. #goodreads #bookshop #book #audiobook #library #booklover #history #holocaust #litsy #kindle #kindlefire
An amazing book! My second favourite book of all time! READ IT!
The first few chapters of this book are really hard to read - and they should be. Gretl, our protoganist, has grown up in the young Nazi party and spouts propaganda about subhumans. Through the course of the book, however, she learns to think for herself as she tries to find out who killed her father eight years ago. I would give the story itself four stars, but the historical context and treatment of Nazi viewpoints bump it up to 5⭐s for me.
I'm so impressed by this book! It deals with a little-covered period in historical fiction, the early 1930s in Munich, before Hitler became Chancellor. And it comes from the viewpoint of a girl in the Nazi party, who starts to question Nazi dogma. This is a very rare pov for YA fiction, and it's a great way to lead to better understanding of how a nation could let something like the Holocaust happen.
On a less serious note, it's also a good story!
Starting my second book of 2017, having started Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell right at the end of 2016 and only just finishing it today.
I liked it, but not as much as Code Name Verity, to which reviews compared it. The depiction of Munich between the wars, Hitler's inner circle, & the new field of psychoanalysis are intriguing. The ending piqued my interest in book 2. But it's a little far fetched; maybe that's why I'm not in love?
Settling in to start this book....I've been dying to read it!
😳
Next Sequoyah nominee! I know nothing about this book, haha.
Best written WW2 Historical Fiction book ever. EVER. Also she promised we would get wine and talk history so
