We re-enter Devon today and say goodbye to Cornwall, starting off at Plymouth, the largest city in Devon.

How has Christmas Eve been Ford people? Not much different here as no great plans for Christmas, will just be my wife and I due to the prevalence of COvID, but may go for a drive as things more relaxed tomorrow. Plenty of time for reading. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅 or Happy Holidays everyone.

#DaikyCheckIn

JacqMac I haven‘t been ignoring you all, I promise. I‘ve just been trying to keep things going. We have one kid who is halfway across the country. He‘s 22. I‘m a little worried about him being alone. Our second kid is allowed to visit, because they eased the restrictions for a few days for single people. She‘s 19. So that‘s good for all of us. We have been cooking a lot and watching lots of movies. It‘s a weird time, but we‘re just trying to go with it. 4y
IamIamIam Merry Christmas Eve, all!!! I'm grateful for each and every one of you! You all made this year more bearable and put a smile on my face on days when they were hard to come by! May your holiday celebrations be full of love and as much family as allowed by the government!! 🎄🎅❤ 4y

DieAReader Officially kiboshed all Christmas plans with everyone due to upcoming Province-Wide Shutdown (here in Ford land🙄). I completely agree with the shutdown, but I am not holding my breath on their hopeful outcome following the 28 days. More people not taking precautions or even following guidelines. Makes me so mad & scared. Where I live, because we are north eastern Ontario, our shutdown is Dec 26-Jan 9. This basically means that after Jan 9th, 4y
DieAReader More people than not will slowly and not so slowly returning to normal with little concern for anyone but themselves. For these reasons as well as many other mental & physical currently insurmountable obstacles & road blocks, hubs and I have decided to self-isolate throughout the shutdown. This is difficult and was a very difficult decision to come to, but we need to end 2020 better than it started (for us). This will be a #SelfCareIsolation time 4y
Andrew65 @JacqMac Sending best wishes, these times are so tough, just join in when you are able to. 🥰🎅🎄 4y
Andrew65 @IamIamIam #DailyCheckIn has been a god send for us all and think we‘ve now been doing this since the end of March. Feels less lonely with it. 4y
DieAReader For both of us individually & as a couple. No plans, just taking the day as it comes tomorrow & doing what we want, on our schedule & in all the ways best to decompress & maybe get the pack of 🐿 out of our 💀 Happy Holidays everyone! Thank you all so much for being such an uplifting and wonderful community♥️ Be safe & I hope that your Christmas is exactly the way you need/want it to be 🎄🎅🏻 4y
Andrew65 @Squidget Think we are rapidly heading for our third national lockdown, although large parts already lockeddown. 4y
Andrew65 @Squidget Sending all our love and best wishes. 🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🥰 (edited) 4y
DieAReader @Andrew65 🥺😭😳 So sorry to hear that. I often can‘t help but wonder where we‘d be if “The Powers that Be”🙄 actually cared about how their actions/inactions affected people (anyone) that are outside their circle (& putting💰in their pockets & offshore banks accounts). This is just my own “useless” opinion though🤷🏻‍♀️ 4y
MicheleinPhilly @Squidget I TOTALLY get where you are coming from. We‘ve barely left the house since March, have been regularly wearing masks since March, etc. It is so unbelievably frustrating and infuriating to see people disregarding medical advice for their own selfish needs. I get it - it sucks. I should be at my aunt‘s house right now with my entire extended family celebrating. And I know plenty of Americans will be just like they did for Thanksgiving. 😡 4y
kezzlou85 Well thanks to the heavy rain much of our area is flooded. Luckily we're on a hill but so many of the roads round here are flooded. The last thing people need this year is flooding in their homes. 4y
MicheleinPhilly Sorry to be such a negative Nancy! I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, restful, and safe holiday season! 4y
LiteraryinPA @MicheleinPhilly I agree with you, Michele! It‘s frustrating. The rest of my family is together but my husband and I aren‘t there. But if we can all just stay healthy for another several months we it‘ll be safe to see each other again. 4y
BookwormM I am already in Tier 4 so lockdown for me burger and chips for Christmas dinner just me and hubby. Luckily I managed to send my 90 year old Nan flowers that arrived yesterday. 4y
Andrew65 @MicheleinPhilly You‘re not negative, unbelievable that all don‘t follow as strictly. If they did we quickly get this beaten and in major remission. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 Just what wasn‘t needed at this time. Stay safe. 4y
Andrew65 @LiteraryinLititz Exactly. Save it til we can all get together safely! 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Hey everyone! 👋 Merry Christmas! We had slightly warmer weather today so I took a long walk with the pup while my guy had an eye appointment. We're staying home for Christmas, other than the usual walks. It's weird & uneventful, but that just means a gathering later will be more special. Neither of us needs more stuff & we have no clue when live events will be available & safe, so we're not exchanging gifts either. 4y
Andrew65 @BookwormM We were always planning to be just the two of us. 4y
CocoReads We are doing a very small gathering. My sisters family, my family and my parents. I work with my brother in law at the hospital snd we all agreed that if anyone has even the slightest symptom we won‘t get together. We will also be masking except for dinner snd practicing our best covid cautions. We did this at Halloween and it went well. Cancelled Thanksgiving and we wont be doing New Years. 4y
Velvetfur Merry Christmas Andrew! Nice that you finally have time to relax 🙂👍🏻 4y
MicheleinPhilly Exactly. My aunt said, “No Christmas Eve bash at our house. We‘ll do Christmas in July at the beach house.” I just wish more people would recognize that it is up to US, not the government, to control the spread. 😕 Merry Christmas, Andrew. Hope you are getting some much deserved rest. 4y
TheSpineView Like you, it will just be the hubby and myself tomorrow. I am cooking part of the day and hope to get some reading done. Other than that it should be a very quiet day. 4y
Andrew65 @Velvetfur And can switch off emails now too! 6 days from end of term has elapsed with no positive cases. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅 (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @MicheleinPhilly Thanks, good to get some downtime, only then you realise how tired you are. I think it would have helped if Governments had announced two Public Holidays on 25th / 26th June for family gatherings. Hopefully by then be safe to do so. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView May not have been as we would have planned but hopefully will be relaxing. 4y

I've been buying a lot of mysteries on amazon, and that ever so helpful "customers also bought" thing at the bottom started displaying all these Agatha Christie short stories. I knew that she had published a lot of them, but I hadn't realized that some were then expanded into longer novels. This short story eventually became The Mystery of the Blue Train. #anditsaugust #quickreads @RealLifeReading
