That was interesting. I‘m definitely intrigued enough to read the next one. I liked the vintage noir feel mixed with the supernatural mystery. It made it feel both familiar and unique at the same time.

This was another ComiXology Unlimited grab. I finished it last night and then immediately fell asleep 😂 I went into this blind, (I‘ll be honest, I got it for the cover) and I really enjoyed it so much! Another series I‘ll be continuing 😄

Loved it! Noir meets Lovecraft! Such a great premise and well developed story.
Basically it's about a femme fatale but from her point of view for once, with some characterization and development. And with a lot of supernatural horror added in. Need to buy book 2 as soon as possible. Love the deluxe edition with some nice extras at the end as well.

After binge-reading and loving The Fade Out, I decided to try Ed Brubaker's Fatale series. It is set both in the 1950s and present day. The 1950s parts have a great noir feel to them. This was not what I was expecting and is actually quite disturbing, but also very compelling. The writing is top-notch. There is a horror/cult element to it along with an interesting mystery. The artwork is great, the characters fascinating. Can't wait to read more!

Really enjoyed this spooky, Lovecraftian noir that riffs on the femme fatale archetype in some really fascinating ways. It's a sly reversal of a lot of the more misogynist ideas in crime fiction - and I'm curious to see if the other volumes are just as or more successful. A great start to #scaretober! Picked this up because I love Brubaker and Phillips other series The Fade Out. Fatale has a similar feel to it, but has a paranormal aspect. I enjoyed it but it didn't grab me quite the way The Fade Out did. I am definitely going to pick up the next volume and see if I'm feeling it more then.
