Princess Elizabeth has become the Queen of England, and we meet her and other characters at Sandringham House.
What a lovely bustling place to be.
A lovely, lovely storyline, wonderful behind-the-scenes information about the Royals, and a beautiful read all around. 5/5

I liked this book. It takes place in the 1950‘s in Washington DC. An eclectic group of women live in a boarding house. The story is told from each woman‘s point of view. As the story progresses the womens‘ background and secrets are exposed. A new resident helps to bring the women together by hosting weekly meals. She is a very good support for the other women but she is keeping a big secret that will eventually affect all of them.

Yet another Wednesday, yet another cocktail + book! I really enjoy having an evening just to decompress with good food, good drink, and a good read. This week, the cocktail is from their holiday menu and called the Ron Burgundy (scotch, apricot brandy, cinnamon, lemon, and a float of Pinot Noir). Perfect for a cold December evening!

This is my 1st Quinn book, & I enjoyed it. Set during the Korean War & the McCarthy era, it‘s a story about a group of women living in a boardinghouse. Each main character gets her own section from her POV, with all her secrets, romances, & past exposed to the reader. Loved the friendships that formed from their weekly dinners & how each changed during a 4-5 yr period. The men were good supportive characters, too. TW: death, DV

#ARichLife #Pie There is something so cool about vintage pamphlet style cookbooks! This one is from 1957 .

So fun!

I loved seeing a more personal side of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip. The author did a wonderful job of bringing warmth and humanity to these iconic figures. I enjoyed how a touching love story was woven throughout the novel.Christmas is my favorite time of year,& I loved reading about how the Royal Family celebrated it across different years. This book beautifully captures both royal tradition &the timeless spirit of Christmas.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought it was so well written and engaging. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good historical. A friendship made story. Secrets revealed. And so much more.
