Bad Mommy
Bad Mommy | Tarryn Fisher
When Fig Coxbury buys a house on West Barrett Street, it's not because she likes the neighborhood, or even because she likes the house. It's because everything she desires is next door: The husband, the child, and the life that belongs to someone else.

This book is a little confusing since it goes by two names. I read it from the library under the name Bad Mommy, but I could only find it on Goodreads under the name in the picture. This is one of those books where you read it and feel the need to talk about it with someone cause wtf? This is my first Tarryn Fisher, so I have high hopes for her other books.

I see you getting things you don't deserve, living it up.

This book has the same kind of narrating style as Joe in You. I'm only 15% in but I'm enjoying it so far.

Astrology is a bunch of salty bullshit. The stars are giant flaming balls of gas, floating in a vacuum. They do not care about you, or your future husband, or your dead-end job, or if you see the world in black and white and have little use for grey (Scorpio).

Yesterday I was able to tackle 2 goals! The "workout" was low impact cardio and then I followed it up with a kettle bell workout!

Feeling good still about #BFC #BFCr2 ! This day has been relaxing for me. This is my day of rest before I finish out my workout goals Wed & Thur.

Tagged book is what I'm currently reading! Book 3/15.

Damn. I guess what they say is true, crazy calls to crazy. This was an interesting book for Tarryn Fisher, very different from anything I've read by her before. Definitely read this one!

If you're looking to take a trip to crazy town this book is for you!! Well written, a little funny and a lot disturbing. It starts with Fig Coxbury seeing a little girl And believing that she has the soul of the baby that she lost a few years earlier and it just gets more terrifying from there. It's a messy story of obsession, mental illness, manipulation, and infidelity.😳💔

#splashintosummerreads day 7 #newauthor new to me at least. This one sounds really interesting, I'm hoping to start it next. I hear she writes romance from the villains perspective.**Everything she desires is next door: the husband, the child and the life that belongs to someone else** from the back cover

Jovy She writes bad villains well! Have not read this one but loved 7y
Daughter-of-words @Jovy I've heard a lot of great things about The Opportunist. It's also on my TBR😁 7y

Mehso-so

I am a huge Tarryn Fisher fan. Love her characters and writing. She writes crazy imperfect characters that you can't help but like them.

I immediately knew that Jolene was Tarryn and Fig was all her fans who are part of the Facebook group dedicate to her. I thought that Ryan's description sounded eerily like her Fiancé.

This book was twisty and fucked. It highlights that no one is what they seem. In the end it was just ok.

So this is only my second Tarryn Fisher book, but I feel like they will all have a common thread. They are not perfect by any means, but Fisher knows how to pick at old scars and really make you think. For all the flaws I could complain about, I learn and feel so much more.

AmbityScambity Wasn't this one great?? I was completely thrown off with part 2, Darius. I was *not* expecting him to be such a wacko! 7y
MLVReads @AmbityScambity yes! I loved it. I am actually glad we got to see each character from their perspective. And there were so many surprises, like Fig's husband being there the whole time?!?!? 7y
AmbityScambity My jaw dropped when I realized that! A conversation in the BM discussion group on fb made a good point that I tend to forget when reading Tarryn's books: each character is only telling you what they want you to know. Fig and Darius both had no use for Fig's husband, so he pretty much didn't exist for them. Her books are always so smart. 7y
MLVReads @AmbityScambity omg I need to find this group!!! I have no one to discuss it with. Aside from this book, I've only read Mud Vein (I love that book so much and I cried for days after finishing it). Do you like her other books? 7y
AmbityScambity I've read all of them and absolutely love them! She has a reason/meaning for every detail she includes; nothing is ever just thrown in there for the heck of it. Here's the group: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1088059391306141?tsid=0.5179829992809037&source=ty... 7y

Loved this book. Suspenseful, intriguing, kept you on your toes about who you thought did what and when. Reminded me a little of the TV show "the affair" where events seen from different viewpoints are contrary. P.s @Litsy I keep sending you these books to add to your DB, get jiggy.

That-Bookish-Hiker I have this on my kindle now! I want to start it but I want to savor it at the same time lol. 7y
JayneChanger @That-Bookish-Hiker definitely worth the savour. Good thing it's the weekend! Grab that glass of wine and settle in. 7y
