Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? | Bill Martin, Jr.
8 posts | 18 read
The author and illustrator team behind the classic Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? turn their extraordinary talents ot the theme of animal conservation. Thirty-five years after their first groundbreaking collaboration, the creators of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? reunite to address the important topic of animal conservation. A Bald Eagle soars, a Spider Monkey swings, a Macaroni Penguin struts, and a Red Wolf sneaks through Bill Martin Jr's rhythmic text and Eric Carle's vibrant images, and all are watched over by our best hope for the future-a dreaming child. Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? is a 2004 Bank Street - Best Children's Book of the Year.

I just started going through all the books that I got for my great nephew. I am trying to figure out which books to give my niece at her baby shower this weekend, but how do I choose? I don't want to give her all of them because I really don't know if she is going to use them. I know what is her problem!

Crazeedi This is so special, what a great auntie you are!! 5y
JoScho You have some good ones in there. 5y
Lovesbooks87 @Crazeedi aww thanks. I could have got a lot more but some how I didn't. I can't wait to put together a basket of books to keep at my house and read to him when he comes to visit! 5y
Lovesbooks87 @JoScho I know it was so hard to pick! 5y

Daddy reading a quick book to two very sleepy little dudes before bed. We are all now on Thanksgiving break and get to spend the next five days together. It will be bonkers and noisy and messy, but fantastic! I‘m so very thankful for my 3 guys. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

Hope everyone had a great Earth Day. We spent it reading books about animals and making mud in the sand in our backyard.🌍🐼♻

(I think) The last of the collabs of Bill Brown with Eric Carle that we needed for our collection. As always, the repetitiveness helped to entertain Mari and the illustrations are beautiful. These books will forever be favorites ❤

Written by Bill Martin Jr. and illustrated by Eric Carle this F book is perfect for a CR with students. With a note about endangered species at the beginning this story focuses on and illustrates 10 endangered animals. I would utilize EL strategy 18 and have students do motions and movements like the animals on each page as well as UDL strategy 9.1 to promote the belief that each student can help endangered animals through the decisions they make.

JordanD It is also a Bank Street Best Children's Book. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VgrcTbpJmnQ this is a Read Aloud of the story that includes an additional auditory element with background music for each animal. #ucflae3414f17 (edited) 6y
MeghanW I‘ve honestly never heard of this book! But I think these stories are great for kids to read along with! I love how you want to students to move around as you read. Younger students have a hard time sitting still and I think they would enjoy it! 6y
DrSpalding This is a classic. What a cool resource with the music in the background. This would make an excellent choral reading or also storytelling. 6y

So I read this to babe multiple times wondering at the rocky rhythm and eclectic selection of animals before realizing they are all endangered creatures ??? The board book does have a short note about this but I had to search for it. Babe liked the animals and still clapped along with the "song." #babyreads #boardbook

This contemporary realistic fiction follows a group of animals and dives into what they may see on a daily basis. At the end the "dreaming child" sees all of the animals wild and free. For a few fun activities to do after the reading click on the link! http://owensfamily-gwyn.blogspot.com/2013/04/panda-bear-printable-panda-bear-pan... #UCFLAE3414sp17

DrSpalding Nice work! As long as the text is realistic, it's RF! 7y
CaitlinPVeal The website that goes along with this book had some cool tools I would use in the classroom. I liked the popsicle sticks with the different animals on them. This would be an easy way to make the story more engaging! 7y
katelynn_lawson I love the games and activities you attached in the link! So much fun!! 7y
