All in all I'd say it was an entertaining read but it did have some issues that I cannot ignore. I would recommend it to those looking for something a little different in the reading.

There's this vein of repulsion for human flesh, bodies, smells, etc through all these stories and I honestly rolled my eyes so hard at autism being in this long passage of eww people are icky. Maybe she didn't intend it that way but honestly 😑.

So. I'm about halfway through and I --don't-- think I'm going to be loving this so much as everyone else. I keep finding myself sorta liking the stories but feeling dissatisfied or wrinkling my nose. If stories had textures, these would feel slightly sticky. I'm going to finish but I think they're just not clicking for me.

My favorite short story collection to date: sharp & prescient & so intelligent, and filled with delicious imagery like this.
