Remembering Fred Rogers on the twentieth anniversary of his passing. He was such an integral part of my childhood - one of my first teachers. It‘s because of public television like Mister Rogers‘ Neighborhood, Sesame Street, and Reading Rainbow that I became a voracious reader.

Thank you, Mister Rogers, for creating a space safe for children to learn and imagine. It‘s you we like.

Does it count if you‘re a 43-year old child who celebrated with a B&N gift card spree, a few episodes of Gilmore Girls, and a bowl of hot lentil soup on a cold winter‘s day?

About to watch my friend Tom Hanks (I met him a few years ago) play Mister Rogers. I hope no one cuts onions in this theater.

I bought this book last week. They changed the title to coincide with the release of the movie. This edition has the article that inspired the movie.

I thought the Litsy community would enjoy this idea from my home state of Pennsylvania today in honor of Fred Rodgers.

This entire book could be highlighted if you are looking for inspiration and joy and love. Mister Rogers reminds me of the kind of person I want to be. Also, he reads the audio version, which brings joy in and of itself,

I really struggled with #literaryluck #disabilityreads. I am the first to admit I am lacking in having read books with characters w/ disabilities, mainly because I haven‘t yet had a need that those characters could fill. Other people who do, deserve characters w/ disabilities w/ which they can identify. Last night I thought abt Mr Rogers, how he taught children abt the differences & similarities between abled bodies & differently abled bodies.👇🏻
