New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugonis acclaimed series continues as Tracy Crosswhite is thrown headlong into the path of a killer conspiracy. While investigating the hit-and-run death of a young boy, Seattle homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite makes a startling discovery: the suspect is an active-duty serviceman at a local naval base. After a key piece of case evidence goes missing, he is cleared of charges in a military court. But Tracy knows she cant turn her back on this kind of injustice. When she uncovers the drivers ties to a rash of recent heroin overdoses in the city, she realizes that this isnt just a case of the military protecting its own. It runs much deeper than that, and the accused wasnt acting alone. For Tracy, its all hitting very close to home. As Tracy moves closer to uncovering the truth behind this insidious conspiracy, shes putting herself in harms way. And the only people she can rely on to make it out alive might be those she can no longer trust.

I really enjoyed this book in the Tracy Crosswhite series! I love how the seemingly-separate stories ended up intertwined by the end of the book. This was one of the fewer crime/mystery stories where I couldn‘t figure it out on my own by the end of the story! The storyline kept me interested the entire time, and it was a relatively quick read.

I‘m sure I‘ve posted this one before but... hey ho!

I love Tracy Crosswhite as a cool female detective in these books - this is no 5 in the series.

God how I hate pedicures. But they are a necessary evil when you live in flip-flop land. At least I can read for an hour.

Ingerella I hate them too! My feet are so ticklish it ends up feeling like torture. 6y
Ashley_Nicoletto I also hate them. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don't find them relaxing. 6y
alisiakae I don‘t like it either! I live in sandals, but keep my toesies naked anyway. 😃😃 6y
AmyG I hate them, too and finally dragged myself to the salon yesterday ....with my book. 👍🏻 6y
SledgeReader I hate strangers touching my feet. It‘s a thing. But an unfortunate necessity. 🤢 6y

I love the Tracy Crosswhite series and this didn‘t disappoint even if she wasn‘t the primary focus. This felt as if Dugoni is going to focus the series on other characters in the future, and I‘m okay with that.

I find it funny that my 3 posts on this book are all on Fridays with an Acai bowl & iced cold brew coffee.😆I'm so behind right now on work, life & Litsy😬but I managed to finish this one--book 5 in this series. A solid addition--I like Tracy & it was good to get to know more about her team-especially Del in this book. Maybe not as thrilling as some of the other books & I had the end twist figured out-but still good & I'll keep reading Dugoni.📚👍

JenReadsAlot I have to ask - what island are you on? I'm going to Hawaii next week for the Ironman (watching not doing it 😂). 7y
DebinHawaii @JenReadsAlot I'm on Oahu. You'll have a good time on The Big Island though-the Ironman is pretty cool to watch/witness. 👍 7y
JenReadsAlot I'm looking forward to it. Would have liked to have met you if possble! 7y
DebinHawaii @JenReadsAlot That would have been fun! I wish I was going to be over there. 7y

Bookquilter @Izai.Amorim cruise this year and hopefully Italy/Spain next year ( we have free plane tickets we need to use by the end of next year ) 7y
Izai.Amorim @Bookquilter 🇮🇹 👍I guess we can divide people into France lovers and Italy lovers. Nothing against France but to me Italy wins hands down: the people, the language, the food, the climate, the art, the cities... 7y
Bookquilter @Izai.Amorim France would've been fine but I have a childhood friend that is living in Italy so it made it an easier and more logical choice... looking forward to the trip very much (edited) 7y

Back to where we were a week ago-just a bit further in. This was this morning's coffeeshop breakfast-Acai bowl, iced coffee with coconut milk & a chapter of the book I started last week. Really needing the weekend but I have a pile of work & a late afternoon coffee date in Waikiki later to catch up with an old friend/co-worker to get through before I can introvert & read or spend much time catching up on Litsy. What a week.😬#alohafriday #tgif

A big bowl of leftover soup (Sunday's Red Lentil with Caraway & Minted Yogurt) for dinner is what's needed tonight after a long, tiring day of facilitating class, meetings about more classes, general extroverting, then catching up on missed work emails. Lots of photo challenges, chapter-a-day & Litsy catch-up to do. I'd like to read this e-book #covertocover as I really like this series-but reading time is limited this week.😬Day 10 #FallIntoBooks

Betty Mmmm, soup sounds super 7y

Finally getting around to starting this 5th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series with my usual Aloha Friday coffeeshop breakfast of an Acai bowl. For a holiday week, this one felt really long & tiring so I'm looking forward to finishing up my work & starting the weekend this afternoon. As much as I welcome the weekend, my thoughts & prayers are with everyone in Florida & anywhere in the path of Hurricane Irma & those in the Mexico earthquake.💜💜💜

Smrloomis Glad you'll get a break soon. Hope everyone is safe after Irma & also that earthquake 😕... 7y

I love this mystery series and the newest books are always $5 on kindle (and free with unlimited). This is the 5th installment and scheduled for release on September 5. Another well-plotted and tightly written mystery. This installment has a suspect in the Navy and there are some good plot points relating to jurisdictional issues and military justice. 👍🏼#netgalley

Bakingbookworm I'm starting it right now. I love this series. Have you read any of his other books? 7y
Well-ReadNeck @Bakingbookworm Yes! I've read all of the books in this series!! Plus, one that I think was a stand alone, which I didn't like nearly as well. 7y
Bakingbookworm @Well-ReadNeck I've read this whole series too. I still think My Sister's Grave was the best but the 4th book was amazing too. 2 and 3 were good but I didn't love them as much. He's become one of my go-to suspense authors. 7y
