The Hound of the Baskervilles & The Valley of Fear
The Hound of the Baskervilles & The Valley of Fear | Arthur Conan Doyle
6 posts | 8 read | 2 reading | 1 to read
Supernatural hounds, a family curse, a mysterious cipher and the return of a deadly enemy . . . Sherlock Holmes will have to utilize every skill he has to solve the two classic mysteries collected here. The Hound of the Baskervilles sees Holmes and Dr Watson travel to the misty wilds of Dartmoor to confront a devilish apparition, while in The Valley of Fear the pair investigate a gruesome murder that may be the work of the dastardly Professor Moriarty himself. In this Macmillan Collector's Library edition, Sherlock scholar David Stuart Davies provides both an illuminating afterword and a fascinating chronology of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Designed to appeal to the booklover, the Macmillan Collector's Library is a series of beautiful gift editions of much loved classic titles. Macmillan Collector's Library are books to love and treasure.

Vatican cameos. 🤣 I haven‘t read The Hound of the Baskervilles since I was in the sixth grade. I‘ve been revisiting the complete collection of stories recently. When I watched the first episode of the second series of Sherlock - A Scandal in Belgravia - I knew Sherlock‘s warning of “Vatican cameos!” had to be a reference to the stories somewhere. Tickled that I found it tonight. 💕📚

Five gigantic 600 page blank notebooks. And a bucketful of pens. If you force me to choose, I'l write my own stories.

Tex2Flo It ought about choosing a blank book for one of mine, but I figured I would make my own and write with some berry juice. 🤓🏝🐠🏝🧜🏼‍♀️ 6y

#LitsyClassics #Pet

Those Baskerville‘s should have kept a tighter leash on their pet hound, instead of terrorizing the neighborhood!
