This was a really cute and enjoyable spooky cosy mystery. Woman in the middle of decorating a guesthouse discovers it‘s haunted and she has to solve the murders. Is it old school and by the book? Yes. Is it delicious and very enjoyable? Also yes. It‘s on audible plus if anyone wants a #scarathlon read 🥰

And that‘s a wrap on our first reading sprint of #scarathlon 🎃 it‘s late at night here in the uk so I managed 45 mins of paradise lost for grad school then got too sleepy and switched to cosy mysteries while I hung up late night laundry. Off to bed now, my eyes are absolutely closing!

Thank you for hosting @Clwojick

willaful Oh, is that connected to Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day? 1y
Emilymdxn I reckon it isn‘t but I haven‘t actually read that book so it could have a connection I haven‘t seen @willaful 1y

@Littlewolf1 Crystal, I love my #FFFS package. The books will fit in perfectly this month. The journal is adorable and the recipe looks delicious. I think I'll make it with that cute pasta and serve it in the adorable dish. I have never written with a pen? quill? like that. What is the proper term for it? Anyways, I'm excited to try it. I love everything. Thank you so much! And thanks to @Avanders and @Chrissyreadit for hosting!

Littlewolf1 It is called a glass, fountain pen… And it takes a little while to get used to, at least it did for me, but now I love it. I hope you do too. I hope you enjoyed everything, and you have an amazing fall. 1y

Avanders @tdrosebud hiya - your recipient hasn‘t received the package yet - can you please check tracking and let me know? (edited) 2y
tdrosebud @Avanders I'm looking around for the receipt and am not finding it. It is possible it is a casualty of my organizational purge. I found an older swap receipt and am afraid I might have gotten rid of the wrong one. I'm going to keep looking though. 2y
tdrosebud @Avanders I found it! It says it is being held at her post office at customer request. They attempted to deliver it on the 10th. 2y
Avanders @tdrosebud yay!! I‘ll let her know — thank you so much! ♥️ 2y
Avanders @tdrosebud she‘s going to check right now - she said she never received notice! And she apologized ☺️♥️ 2y

#MayMoms Alison Kerby, the main character of this series, is a #Single mom who opens a guesthouse in order to provide a better life for her daughter. The need to provide for her daughter is what keeps her focused on the guesthouse, even after she realizes that there are ghosts living there also.

CoffeeNBooks And a shout out to all of the single moms who are working hard every day to take care of their kids! My mom was a single mom, and I don't know how she did it all. 3y

This was a fun mystery, and it looks like I've started a new series! 😁 Alison has purchased a 100-year-old home on the Jersey Shore that she plans to renovate and turn into a guest house. While renovating, she falls off a ladder, a bucket falls on her head, and she can suddenly see the ghosts of two people who died in the house. And they want her to solve their murders.

It's been raining all day, so it's a bit dreary now, but at least it's nice enough to sit outside to read.

One of the most enjoyable cozy mysteries that I‘ve ever read. As with most books in this genre, I found the mystery to be extremely easy to solve, but I still enjoyed seeing the characters figure it out. Lots of fun, colorful characters. If you‘re like cozies, I definitely recommend this one. Looking forward to the rest in the series.

So far, this book has been a fun listen — ghosts who need help figuring out how they died, a possible deed signed by George Washington, and a single mother trying to start a new business.

Read for a challenge (ghost story). Solid 3 - 3 1/2 stars for this one; I especially liked that it was set “down the shore” in New Jersey, and the ghosts were likable, as were the main characters. Though I‘m not a huge cozy fan, I would consider reading more of this series.

I loved this book! The characters are wonderful. The story line is fun and developed well. This is a book you can curl up and relax with! I will read the next book in the series.

Gissy I will try to find the serie but it seems they are available only in mass marker paperback and I can't read this type of print is too small! 😳 I will search at least for paperback size 8y

Super fun paranormal cozy mystery that is set during the last part of October, and is perfect for a light Halloween read. It's like a slightly more grownup version of Casper the Friendly Ghost, with a conspiracy involving George Washington set in the Jersey Shore. You heard me. 👻
