With unparalleled suspense and her trademark explosive twists, #1 New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter delves into the terrifying mind of an escaped mental patient obsessed with revenge in this next installment of her riveting FBI series. When he fails to kidnap five-year-old Sean Savich, agents Sherlock and Savich know theyre in his crosshairs and must find him before he continues with his kill list. Chief Ty Christie of Willicott, Maryland, witnesses a murder at dawn from the deck of her cottage on Lake Massey. When dragging the lake, not only do the divers find the murder victim, they also discover dozens of bones. Even more shocking is the identification of a unique belt buckle found among the bones. Working together with Chief Christie, Savich and Sherlock soon discover a frightening connection between the bones and the escaped psychopath. Paradox is a chilling mix of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, old secrets that refuse to stay buried, and ruthless greed that keep Savich and Sherlock and Chief Ty Christie working at high speed to uncover the truth before their own bones end up at the bottom on the lake. Dont miss Paradox, the twenty-second FBI thriller.

#newyearwhodis I enjoyed this quite a bit, I‘ve read most of the series over the years but actually am a couple books behind. I don‘t regret jumping forward to this one though. One small complaint, hasn‘t Sean been almost 5 for several books now? It‘s been awhile since I read one but it seems like he should have aged more, or perhaps he‘s just so precocious, I want him to be older than he is. @ElenaBaer @monalyisha

ElenaBaer Agreed ! We wait years between books and we age so I am always expecting Sean to age too. But you are correct he has been 5 for a while. 5y
CocoReads Whew! Glad to know I‘m not crazy! I love Savich and Sherlock but they seem to be frozen in time along with Sean. I get that in an average year, they may have several cases but I‘d love to see Sean grow up and have some adventures as well. 5y

Current conditions: -18 with a wind chill of -45 my plans for today involve books, blankets, and beverages. Sadly I have to work tomorrow.

Suet624 So so cold. 5y
CocoReads @Suet624 sent my daughter off to work this morning with several layers on plus hand warmers. They‘re probably pulling 10 hour days today and tomorrow and they‘re probably all taking turns going with animal control to set pets that have been left outside. 😡because sadly, some people still do that despite all the warning 5y
Suet624 Wow. It‘s just cruel leaving pets outside during such weather. 5y
CocoReads I agree. It makes me so mad when people neglect or abuse their animals. 5y

On to book 6 for my #newyearwhodis list! I should have tomorrow off (unless someone calls in). Probably I can get a good chunk of it done, if not all of it. Tomorrow‘s high is a whopping -12, with a windchill of -48. I won‘t be leaving unless I have to! #polarvortex #lifeinthemidwest @ElenaBaer @monalyisha

Really enjoyed this book. Gripped my attention right away and held it. There were several different plots going on at once. Although there was a lot going on, it was easy to follow along. I loved the characters and really felt a connection with several of them.

I love Savich and Sherlock. They are a great couple/team and really make the books more interesting.

This story is a part of the Savich/Sherlock series. The story begins with a federal prosecutor murdered while on vacation. There are connections to a previous crime spree and a man escaped from an insane asylum. The story has twists and turns and a surprise at the culprit. Highly recommend.

Another FBI Series that includes Savich and Sherlock. Someone trying to kidnap their son, Sean. A cheif that witnesses a murder on a lake. A lake full of bones. An old nemisis back. A Serial Killer. What more do you need in a book.

This is the first book I've read in the series. I enjoyed reading it. There were two interesting mysteries that were intertwined. The book opens with someone trying to kidnap the son of FBI agents Sherlock and Savich. He fails in the first attempt, but Sherlock and Savich are on guard and trying to figure out who he is. There is a second mystery when an attorney is murdered at a nearby lake.

I don‘t typically read mystery books especially by authors like Catherine Coulter who produce such a high volume of books. However, this was on the Lucky 7 shelf at the library and I decided to give it a try. Parts of it were annoyingly predictable but there were a few twists I didn‘t quite see coming. Overall a good quick summer read.

DGRachel My Akita/Collie did this when I first moved to NC and would shut her in my bedroom when I left the house. I nearly lost mind when I came home from church to find shredded books. But, once I gave her free reign of the apartment, the brat was fine. 😂 I miss her. 6y

Look what arrived in today‘s mail. @PatriciaU I got your package.

As for the book, it‘s a Savich and Sherlock novel. And I loved the series until Coulter started Messi g with Savich‘s character and giving him second sight. Hopefully it went back to just being great thriller mysteries.
