Final book of the Mist trilogy. Just like the first two, this was also full of magic and evil and adventurous, brave youngsters. 💜

Zafón's writing always amazes me. This YA novel was well crafted and for me, didn't leave any holes in the story. The story, about 2 teens and an evil nearby kept my interest and was well paced. I'll read anything Zafón has written.
Book 3: great characterization here! A dark plot involving a reclusive toymaker who lives in a gigantic mansion filled with mechanical beings and shadows of the past…chilling🥶

I thoroughly enjoyed this short book! This is what I wanted when I started my previous book. A story of shadows and ghosts of memories, all in a captivating narrative that you can easily read at work in a day. It had me on the edge of my seat, and I found that the characters were actually nice and interesting. I'm also starting to pick up on common devices the author uses in his books, which is a bonus.
I‘d never heard of this, but picked it up because I‘d enjoyed Zafón‘s Shadow of the Wind. And I loved it! It‘s definitely MG/YA, with a more simplistic plot than the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series. But with a gorgeous French seaside setting, a mysterious old house named Cravenmoore, filled with fascinating & creepy automatons, and an enigmatic old man who has no shadow—this was an absorbing tale with just the right amount of spooky for me.
I love Carlos Ruiz Zafón so I automatically was predisposed to this lovely tale. It captured my attention right away and I was in love with the beautiful tale, gorgeous settings and gothic plot. It was so hard to put down, and while not as complex as some of his other novels, it was a beautiful read. I will definitely be rereading this soon!
Unputdownable! Beautifully written, although the story is a bit too straightforward for my liking (I prefer a few more twists and turns).
Reading Zafon‘s note to the reader I realised that he did exactly what he set out to do: write a novel that transports a reader back to the mysteries of Enid Blyton and the adventures of Verne...
Very enjoyable read for anyone over 10 (there are a few scary bits in there, so maybe not a good nighttime read😬)
A book, chocolate and a dirty chai tea😊 Let the weekend begin!!
‘Having learned to recognise the emptiness of her own loss, she knew this place to be little more than the dark reflection of the solitude that had overwhelmed Lazarus during the past twenty years. Every piece of that marvellous world was a silent tear.‘
I‘m mesmerised! So much emotion: joy, sadness, relief, fear... and I‘m just at the second chapter. #readingchallenge #GirlStuff
Starting another reading challenge! Looking forward to my September Read😊 #readingchallenge #GirlStuff
The story have a great sense of mystery and fantasy. His characters are REAL! REAL I tell you. There's so much emotion in his words I don't know how Ruiz Zafon can keep cranking stories like this one.
I wish I had this book when I was growing up. This author is a magician of words. What a gift he has!
I loved The Shadow of the Wind trilogy so I was excited to read more by this author. This book is the third book in another trilogy written for younger readers, but can be read as a standalone novel. There's a nice teen love story in here as well an eerie murder mystery. It's a great setting for unsettling events - scary woods surrounding a mansion owned by an old toymaker that makes bizarre mechanical toys that seem to come to life🤤🤤🤤
Catching up on day 23. This quote, 😢

Set in Northern France, I wrongly thought this was part of Zafron's triology including The Shadow of the Wind. Actually it's the third book of a different triology he wrote early on in his career aimed at young people. It's a quite scary fairy tale with a beautiful love story included and was a great Sunday morning read!

I absolutely loved this book! Read it in two sessions. Brought back memories from my teen reading such as harry potter etc with all the description and imagination. Loved it! Great message and escape from everyday issues.
I really enjoyed reading The Mist Trilogy. Haunting, yet full of inspiring guidelines 😍
In a world of lights and shadows, every person, every one of us, needs to find their own way.

My first association with his books is a gray color. This is the fourth that I read it, and also in this he builds gloomy atmosphere full of mysteries. The book is intended for younger readers, story is cute and revolves around love, loneliness and unusual toys.
