Money can't buy a good first impression.Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers learned early that the rich are not to be trusted. And after years of studying them from behind the cash register of her mom's porcelain-doll shop, she has seen nothing to prove otherwise. Enter Xander Spencehe's tall, handsome, and oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and the fact that he seems to be one of the first people who actually gets her, she's smart enough to know his interest won't last. Because if there's one thing she's learned from her mother's warnings, it's that the rich have a short attention span. But just when Xander's loyalty and attentiveness are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn't a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she'd ever realized. With so many obstacles standing in their way, can she close the distance between them?

I really enjoyed this simple yet cute contemporary romance. It was predictable and cliche but in a good way. I liked the MC Caymen and her sarcasm and humour, I also liked the contrasting love interest, Xander. The pacing was fast and overall easy to read.

Someone suggested I try Audible escapes for a free month. Super steamy romance isn‘t my thing, but there are some good classics included. This one is a light teen romance, more of a sweet 1st boyfriend plot. I like the main character‘s sarcasm, the side plot with her mom, and the doll shop setting. The perfect rich boyfriend feels a bit fake. Light, but forgettable bc I‘m listening to as many as I can while it‘s free, so they blend together a bit.

Y'all, I have really been sleeping on Kasie West. After getting the free trial of #AudibleEscape , I listened to this book and LOVED it. The main character works at a doll store her mom owns and the guy she meets is next in line to take over his family business as well (hotels). They do set up career days for each other to discover what they really want to do in life. ❤

I've already read two more of her books. ✌ #livingmybestbooklife

Bette Have you read The Fill-In Boyfriend? I liked that one. ❤️👍😊 4y

This was a cute bit of fluffy YA romance. Short and sweet and not a lot to it. I liked the story and the characters. The ending felt a bit rushed, but overall it was cute.

5/5 stars. Kasie West writes another home run for me. Loved this book. I definitely wish there was a more of a wrap up between some of the characters, but overall i really enjoyed the book.

Tl/dr: Poor girl and rich boy fall in love.

Good: terribly well-described characters, thoughtful situations, well-written, good dialogue

Bad: somewhat derivative and cliched, but honestly not detrimental to the tale

Terribly enjoyable love story with vague elements of Gilmore Girls and Where‘d You Go Bernadette #ya #yalit #humor #yahumor #romance #romancenovel

Meh. This book was really meh. Poor girl meets rich boy and they fall in love. It's all very predictable. The audio book was performed well, but I couldn't get invested in any of the drama. If you like your contemporary YA cute, but predictable- this one might be for you. Otherwise... well, meh.

Just finished my second Kasie West book. Easy & predictable YA- just the way I like them. The story line was a bit far fetched but I did enjoy some cutesy parts like Caymen refusing to drink from anything unless Xander drank from it first. Adorable & enjoyable addition to my #Ireadya week!

The character Caymen in the story is so well rounded. You can really connect with the character and for me, I connected with her wit! This book got me so wrapped up that the initial task of searching for food could not be completed at all. I ended up in the kitchen in front of the fridge without realizing it. I was broken out of my trance when my dad entered the kitchen laughing at how wrapped up I was in the story.

This YA book had a good storyline but I felt it could've gone deeper. It wasn't a bad story tho and held my interest

8/100 The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

Once again, West didn't disappoint with her writing.

Another super cute read, if not a little bit predictable in places, but definitely re-readable if you need a pick-me-up

This book isn't perfect, but it was exactly what I wanted at the moment: a sweet romcom! I loved Cayman's humor and her back-and-forth with Xander. I wish some loose ends had been tied up, but I enjoyed it and would definitely read another Kasie West book!

Glad I am participating in Booktubeathon or I wouldn't have picked this up as soon as I did. I must say tho that Claymen is quite complex.

A quick easy read. I thought the main character was whiny in parts and some plot points were predictable.

Cute and charming, but there were some plot inconsistencies and too-convenient resolutions at the end. A much improved read over The Fill In Boyfriend.

It didn't work out for me. Maybe if I've read this book when I was still in my teenage years I would've loved it, but stories like this rarely amaze me these days. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1544483403?book_show_action=false

bookstacksonstacks Love this photo! I find books like this and Jennifer E Smith's "The Statistical Probability..." to just be too quick! They seem way too cut and dry. 9y
pearlreads Thank you hun! I agree with you. I didn't particularly like the female mc in this book. lol 9y
