⭐️ This is like a straight-to-DVD movie I would NOT have rented at Blockbuster in 1997. It‘s touted as dark satire, & sure it IS a caricature of campus life, but it tries too hard to be outlandish. To me, for satire to be effective, it should be witty & intelligent. This is neither and the writing is very basic. Per my Kindle, “Mallory” appears over 1K times in 300 pages. Can I get a pronoun or varying sentence structure, please? 👇🏻

I generally try NOT to pan a book or at least find something positive to highlight. In this case all I can say is WALK AWAY!!!DO NOT WASTE ONE MINUTE on this hot mess. There was a story in here, that could‘ve worked but the execution and writing was💩💩. Mallory is a college senior, a future USA Olympic hopeful; an injury leads to a setback,that leads to a romance, that leads to a scandal, that leads to some dark shit. NOTHING good here😬rotten🍋

Cinfhen There wasn‘t one redeeming factor in here, not even the title. After a certain scene is described I felt icky & a little sick☹️This was not a nice book or even a cautionary tale ~ it was crap @Kalalalatja @tpixie 6y
