Thirteen: A Women of the Otherworld Novel | Kelley Armstrong
17 posts | 31 read | 1 reading | 9 to read
The exciting, page-turning LAST episode of Kelley Armstrong's acclaimed, bestselling Women of the Otherworld series! Savannah Levine, a young witch of remarkable power and a dangerous pedigree, staggers away from a bomb blast in New Orleans, glad that she's managed to rescue her half-brother Bryce from the supernatural revolutionaries who'd held him captive. But everyone and everything she holds dear is still at risk. The reveal movement has shaken the Otherworld to its core and the resulting chaos has thinned the boundaries between dimensions, allowing creatures of the deeper realms to break through and wreak havoc on supernaturals but also on innocent humans. Although she's been temporarily stripped her of her powers, Savannah knows she has a crucial part to play in this war of survival. In fact the fate of her loved ones--of Adam, the friend she hopes will become a lover; of Paige and Lucas, her guardians; of the werewolf Pack and Jaime Vegas; of a pregnant Hope; of her brothers Sean and Bryce--and of the human world rests on her shoulders. If she can find the way and the will to defend them. Only in the final battle will Savannah find out her true capacities, and what love will drive her to do. In 13, Kelley Armstrong brings her powerful and unique saga to a deeply satisfying end: thrilling, surprising and harrowing. From the Hardcover edition.

Congrats to @SamanthaMarie on your #samanthamariegets3333 milestone!

My favorite number is 13, ever since I was about 11 and read a book about superstitions. I found it interesting that people could have a fear of a number (triskaidekaphobia), of all things, and immediately felt a strong liking for such a powerful number.

hermyknee It‘s my favorite number, too! My birthday is the 13th of May 😊 6y
SamanthaMarie I definitely feel a smidge creeped out by 13 for no real reason 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Thank you so much for entering!!! 💃🏼🙌🏻🎉 6y

Of course #the13thbookontheshelf of my Kelley Armstrong shelf is the Women of the Otherworld finale, Thirteen #13 #OctinBooks18 @bookisglee

Bookworm54 Love this series ☺️❤️ 6y
bookcollecter What's this series about? 13 is my lucky number 6y
TK-421 @bookcollecter It's an urban fantasy series (with elements of horror, mystery, & romance) narrated by protagonists from different supernatural races such as werewolves, witches, sorcerors, half-demons, ghosts, necromancers, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters & the complex supernatural world that unbeknownst to humans, exists within our own. My description doesn't do it justice, I'm afraid. 6y
bookcollecter Sounds very interesting...for adults only? 6y
TK-421 @bookcollecter In my opinion, yes, because there are definitely some "adult themes". Nothing I personally would consider to be too explicit but I might think differently if I were a parent & my kid wanted to read them. 6y

I can't believe I've come to the end of the Otherworld series. I'm so going to miss these stories and characters. Luckily, I still have a load of short stories, a graphic novel, the Darkness Rising series (set in the same universe) and season three of Bitten to watch so it isn't too bad just yet!

Along with starting "Thirteen", I've rewritten out my Otherworld bujo spread to help me track the rest of the stories from the universe once I've finished ? #bujo #seriestracker #otherworld

•What does everyone have on their nightstands?

This is My current #NightstandStack 📚💙 I‘m about to start Thirteen by Kelley Armstrong which will complete another series off my #MountTBRChallenge#MountOlympus #46OutOf200CheckedOff
#BookNerd 📚💙

AlaMich I‘m so bad about continuing/completing series. There are always new, shiny series to begin! 7y
JuliaTheBookNerd @AlaMich I‘m terrible at continuing/completing as well, that‘s why I filled my Mount TBR Challenge this year with Series I own but haven‘t finished 😬 It‘s giving me motivation to finally finish them ⛰📚💙 7y
CoverToCoverGirl I like Gena Showwalter & Lara Adrian! 😊🔥 7y
Samplergal I just pulled seven books I want to read in June. Since I read zero of my May goals, it‘s probably all in vain! 🤪 6y

Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series is one of my favorites. I picked up Otherworld Chills a few months ago, but haven't read it yet. I'm considering rereading the whole series first since it looks like this is the final collection of Otherworld stories. #NovemberbytheNumbers #13

All the women of the otherworld in one place for a final adventure. Of course they save the world
A fitting end to the series.

Overall, I thought this was a satisfying conclusion to Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. I will miss checking in with many of the characters, but luckily I have a few of the novellas to read. #seriescatchup #completedseries

GypsyKat Now I'm intrigued! 7y
Bookzombie @GypsyKat I really enjoyed the series. I listened to them all on audio. I'm also pleased that she chose not to write 20+ books, even though I love the characters. 🙂 7y

What is it with my Litfluence numbers lately? Before Easter, the number of the Beast---12,666---and now TWO THIRTEENS! In Germany, 13 is a lucky number, but here in the USA. . . Good thing I'm not superstitious. . . ahem. 😳😱🔥😂

Aaah! The main story line is finished and I am left wanting more. That's the best part of these books, you always want to keep reading to find out what happens next. Luckily there are a few novellas that I haven't read so it's not over quite yet. I really like that Kelley didn't write her character into the happily ever after, she left them as if they were still having adventures that we just haven't heard yet. An approach I suprisingly like.

Scoured my bookshelves for books with numbers in the title. I had more than I thought, and cover a lot of genres!

1: Six feet under and rising - part of the I-Zombie comics

2: 13 - the final book in the Women of the Otherworld series

3: Four - an anthology from the world of Divergent

4: A hundred pieces of me - a bittersweet romance

5: 0.4 - a short sci-fi novel

6: 1984 - a classic

So fun 💕
