I actually finished this book last week but didn‘t review it. Good quick read, witchy cozy set in Sonoma wine country & San Francisco. I liked Alma the main character well enough (although some of her spells were a bit🤢) & enjoyed the other magical creatures like demons, fairies, & gnomes &❤️‘d Random the dog. I got the 2nd book in the series to try.

Not as high a total for #Scarathlon Week 2 but I managed 624 points for #TeamHendrix thanks to being able to stack 6 different readathons

I completed 1 witchy book (tagged book for #Screamathon Week 2 Prompt: Book with witch in the title), plus 5 witchy stories from Good Southern Witches & also clocked in time in my #sundaybuddyread & current zombie audiobook & watched 3 scary slasher flicks. For a tough & busy work week, I‘ll take it! 🤷🏻‍♀️

My dim sum breakfast with a couple chapters of the tagged book (I‘m about a third of the way through & liking it so far) & I‘m watching Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark on Showtime (which is only okay). Trying to hit some of my #readathon goals.

I am about to start this book which fits our #scarathlon #teamhendrix theme & will be good for the #screamathon Week 3 prompt: “Hocus Pocus: Read a Book with Witch in the Title.” It also seems to have plenty of #supernatural characters in it.

Thanks to NetGalley for access to this fun fantasy/mystery. Alma, the main character, is a witch living in Silverpool after being discharged from the Protectorate (an organization that protects humans & fae from demons) for being unable to kill her assigned demon. On the night Silverpool‘s protector Tristan is murdered, a valuable amulet also goes missing. ⬇️

This book was a lot of fun. An engaging mystery, great world building, and a wonderfully sympathetic protagonist. Plus a cute dog. And a real live lawn gnome. Definitely recommended to fans of paranormal mysteries. #paranormalmystery #kitchenwitch #mystery
