Drive ,drive ,drive. Looks like I‘m going to do lots of audio while helping mom.Always an interesting case with Bosch .I knew how this was gonna go, it‘s one of the books they used for the TV show , which I had already watched.Always like that Connelly uses real L.A. places, many I‘ve been to , some still there , some gone .I would kill to have a cocktail & a steak at Musso & Frank!complicated cold case as bones of a young person found on a hill.

batsy How is your mum doing? 2y
Leftcoastzen @batsy her health is better , but attitude is worse.I expected that.thanks for asking. 2y
batsy @Leftcoastzen Sorry to hear that. I know how difficult that can be re: attitude (my mum is also having health issues; physical state is better but mental+emotional state is not). I hope it gets better for you both 🌻 2y

batsy @sarahbarnes @Leftcoastzen Big group hug! ❤️ I hope it gets better and easier in time. 2y
Leftcoastzen @sarahbarnes Sorry to hear that , group hug. Reading & Litsy keep me sane . Also , I take 10 minute breaks in the day where I turn off everything & close my eyes.Helps to turn off the buzzing of everything in my head especially when I‘m spinning too much to do , too little time. 2y
Leftcoastzen @batsy group hug! 👏❤️ 2y
batsy @Leftcoastzen Definitely with you on Litsy and reading keeping me sane 🙌🏾 I've also become a huge fan of the short midday nap whenever it's possible. It can take the edge off a bad day and help somewhat 💕 2y
sarahbarnes @Leftcoastzen I‘m right there with you on Litsy and reading. Hang in there. Group hug @batsy! ❤️ 2y
vivastory @sarahbarnes @leftcoastzen @batsy I'm sending all three of you positive vibes & energy. As someone who has deal with serious health issues with parents, I completely understand both the need to be present as much as possible & the drain (mental & physical). 💔 💙 2y
batsy @vivastory Thank you, Scott 💜 2y
Leftcoastzen @vivastory Thanks , Scott 💜May your situation stay smooth.She‘s frustrated & so am I . 2y

This feels almost like a bonus novella between two pre-existing novels, sort of like a Rogue One where Connelly wanted to introduce new characters but had to have an excuse for why they're not in later novels. (I hope that's not too spoilery.) Aside from this, I really liked this novel. It has that feeling of peeling back the layers to reveal a new perspective on the case just when it seems like I have it figured out. It's super short, too.

Bk8 of July & Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! Maybe my mojo is finally coming back🙌 The 8th book in the Bosch series, it‘s the one the first season of TVs Bosch is based on. When a dog finds a child‘s bone in Laurel Canyon, Harry lands a cold case that ends with 2 suspects & a cop dead. With IAD & the brass breathing down his neck, he starts second guessing his path in life. I really enjoyed this one again👍 #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022

TheSpineView Fantastic! 2y

We babysat our grandson today so I‘m only just getting back to reading for the #20in4 #readathon. Would you believe he‘s just started taking his first steps? 10 months old! Anyway, got in 4 hrs of the next Bosch novel(didn‘t sleep till about 3am🥱)so should finish it soon. Not sure if I‘ll continue with Bosch or one of my new books next. Opinions?

Andrew65 Be plenty of chasing after him soon! A good start to the Readathon. 2y
Lizpixie @Andrew65 I know! It‘s already a two person job to get him dressed, he has the stamina of an energizer bunny🐰🔋 2y

Guess I‘m starting off this months #20in4 #readathon with the next Bosch, as I‘m now completely hooked by Connolly‘s gritty LA underbelly. This is the book the 1st season of Bosch on Prime is based on. When the arm bone of a child is found by a retired Dr & his dog up in Laurel Canyon, it kicks off a cold case murder enquiry that brings up childhood memories for Harry. It‘s one of the best books in the series IMO. Good luck in the readathon!

Andrew65 I‘ve still only read the first few of these. Enjoy 😊 2y

This was a good one! A very different crime scene, as Bosch investigates the discovery of a young boy's remains, found in the hills 20-years after his death.

PS: does anyone know how far in the book series I have to get to watch season 1 of the show without spoilers? In the 1st episode there was a recognizable line from THIS book, the eighth in the series ("Hey Bosch, humor us and go check out this humerus someone found...") so I turned it off ?

MicheleinPhilly They definitely hop around with the books. I did read several after seeing the show but that did not hinder my enjoyment of the books. The Wikpedia page tells you which books each season is based on. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosch_(TV_series) 4y
Bookzombie @MicheleinPhilly Thanks for sharing about the Wikipedia page. I‘m not as far into the series so it‘s good to know what the seasons are based on. 🙂 4y

Book #8 in the Harry Bosch series. This seemed like a quick read. I wouldn‘t say happier than the last book, but not as dark. Harry has a lot of internal turmoil he‘s dealing with, a new romance...and a big change to his career. The chase to solve this mystery really circled back to where they started.

Bk12 of my #MarchUnshelfing #challenge was another classic Bosch. This is the one the 1st season of the tv series is based on. Bones are found on a hill in Laurel Canyon & Bosch is lead on the case. After it‘s found to be a 12yr old boy who was killed 25yrs ago after years of physical abuse, Bosch is determined to bring the boy justice. But the cost is more than he bargained for.

Clwojick Oooh. Another one added to my TBR. Sounds really good! 5y
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - sounds like your unshelving project is working about as well as my book spin - helping everyone else but adding loads of books to our own TBRs!! 😂 5y

This eighth installment of the Bosch series is actually very close to one of the storylines covered in the Amazon show- albeit with a few changes. It‘s not my favorite in the series to date, but it‘s solidly entertaining and though I did more #audiodriving than #audiocoloring on this one, it‘s surprising end had me immediately downloading the ninth book to listen to!!

When a Doctor calls the police to report finding the humerus of a young child while walking his dog, Harry Bosch knows this case will be a haunting one. Somewhat convoluted cold case.
