Did I just add the other 15 books to my shopping cart for a whopping total of $150? Yes. Yes I did. Did I then remove 5 or 6 books because I cannot financially justify that big of a purchase… also yes.😢 I will return for you my beloved book babies.

Ps. Miss Fisher is everything I wanna be when I grow up. A single woman, independently wealthy, who solves mysteries out of boredom and amusement.

Watched 'Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears', the new film. It was watchable, but nothing to write home about.
Everything fell weaker than in the series: the script, the dialogues, the settings, the mystery.

Day 27 - #CharacterWithFlair #DearDecember #IntroducingTheHonourablePhryneFisher #KerryGreenwood

Unflappable, unconventional, and uninhibited, the Honourable Phryne Fisher leaves the tedium of English high society for Melbourne, Australia, and never looks back. In her first three adventures, Phryne handles everything―danger, excitement, and love―with panache and flair, and still finds time for discreet dalliances and delicious diversions.

Eggs Absolutely ❣️ 5y
Lynnsoprano I have this collection, and loved it. This reminds me that I need to get back to this series. 5y

1. I‘ve never really read an entire series before this year, but I‘m currently working my way through the entire Phryne Fisher series;

2. I don‘t have one at the moment. The ones I did like have all gone off the boil for the last two or three series, so I‘m only watching stuff like Bake Off and Strictly

3. No. I‘m English, I barely even know what the World Series is!

4. Chicken and chips this evening.

5. Yes

squirrelbrain I love Bake Off and Strictly too - great fluffy telly! 5y

gradcat @Crazeedi No problem. Yes—got it yesterday—so very nice of you. Do you prefer books or e-books? 6y
Crazeedi @gradcat either! I go through spells, I'm reading books right now. But you don't have to do anything! My pleasure sending Phryne to you! 6y

#LitsyClassics #MayLovesClassics #day14 #Character Phryne Fisher is my idol. A strong personality with a deep moral code, a feminist with a feminine side, independent & unapologetic, she forges her own path in a time when women were to be seen and not heard. Shocking late 20s Melbourne society with both her choice of lovers & career, if she calls you friend, you know she‘ll be there for you, no matter what. #phryneappreciationclub

PickwickPlockPlock I love the TV show and I'm a bit afraid to read the books in case. I might be disappointed. 7y

#LitsyClassics #MayLovesClassics #day2 #Heroine Phryne Fisher is the undoubted heroine of “golden age crime”Feisty, fabulous, fearless & very very Feminist, she‘s also affectionate, charming & loving to both her employees & her adopted daughters as well as her gorgeous Chinese lover, Lin. Landing in Melbourne after WWI, she starts working as a “lady detective” refusing to let the men in power tell her what she can & cant do. #phryneappreciationclub

Sarah83 Still need to get the books for my library.😉 7y

#Rocktober #day20 #FoxyLady Phryne Fisher. She can shoot a gun, fly a plane, drive a race car, chase down robbers, bad men & murderers. And she can also dance the charleston, sip cocktails, dress like a lady & love like a courtesan. She is one foxy lady.❤️ #phryneappreciationclub

#JuneTunz #day4 #BeYourself There ain't no other female character written that is more true to herself than the Honorable Phryne Fisher. She takes no prisoners, cares little about what other people think, refuses to be what society expects her to be & is a champion for the victimized & marginalized. She's an amazing woman & a wonderful character to read. All hail Miss Phryne! #phryneappreciationclub

Cinfhen Love your description 😃💖 7y

#RockInMay #day19 #FunFunFun Miss Phryne Fisher is very much fun, fun, fun! Her investigations are extremely entertaining, daring, and very Australian. I love how she's portrayed as breaking women's stereotypes left, right & centre and never taking no for an answer. She brings in murderers, thieves & scoundrels but she has so much fun whilst doing so that the reader enjoys themselves just as much. Love Phryne so much! #phryneappreciationclub

Cinfhen Great descriptions! I can see why you love this series! #funfunfun 8y

Phryne is one of my all time favorite characters, in any form she appears. I've read some of the later books, but had trouble finding the earlier ones. Got this omnibus at Aunt Agatha's Mystery Bookshop (a delightful discovery in Ann Arbor).

LeeRHarry I love it that people around the world are reading books set in my city! 😊 FYI Ballarat, a lovely day trip from Melb, has a great art gallery. 😊 8y

#feistyfeb #day27 #australianauthors This is just a small selection of the Aussie Authors on my shelves, these are the ones within reach. Some of my favourites are here, like Kerry Greenwood & Kate Morton, but I also have names like Tom Keneally, Ruth Park, Tim Winton, Kate Grenville, Colleen McCullough, Bryce Courtenay, Mathew Reilly & Markus Zusak. Not to mention classics like Joan Lindsay, Miles Franklin, Ethel Turner & Norman Lindsay!🇦🇺🇦🇺

JacqMac Love Kate Morton. 8y

Pickpick

I've read the first three The Honorable Phryne Fisher books in audio form before, but this is the first in print. All three were fantastic, though not as good as some of the later novels, nevertheless they get you sucked in to Phryne world & leaving you wanting more. Cocaine Blues is when Phryne first comes back to Australia after the Great War to find out if a woman is being poisoned & the next two are her first cases in Melbourne. 5⭐️

BeckyD I've only read the first one. I need to continue the series soon. 8y
ReadingEnvy I love the TV series too 8y
Dragon I had the same book, same cover etc. Enjoyed the three stories and the tv shows. I'll be looking forward to finding more of her books at the next booksale 😀 8y

It took me way too long to start these books after discovering Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. They are fun, quick reads, and the show is different enough to keep the mysteries interesting

Extraaardvark I've wondered if they would be close to the tv show! Might give them a whirl 9y
Baileythebookworm @Extraaardvark I've enjoyed them so far! 🙂 9y
