#WhatsNewWednesday #LitsyLove

I pimped out my Kindle cover with some new stickers. The Philly skyline is from my old cover, but is still adhesive!

In the spirit of trying every good idea at least once, I'm joining @CBee 's #readyourkindle challenge in February. Friends, I have thousands of unread books in my Kindle account. This is not an exaggeration, but a very real consequence of having zero resistance to literary freebies and 99¢ sales.

So here's my list of 20 titles -- of which I'll finally read a couple in February. Probably.

CBee Awesome! Thanks for joining and I like your spirit 😁 3mo
RamsFan1963 I read Little Girl Lost, and it is one of the darkest crime novels I've ever read. Only thing darker was the sequel 3mo
swynn @RamsFan1963 Now I am intrigued. There's dark and then there's just mean, and the line between can be pretty thin. I like the first a lot, and wonder how this one will strike me. 3mo
RamsFan1963 @swynn The sequel, Songs of Innocence, has an ending that totally rocked me. It made sense for the story but it was disgusting non the less 3mo

I have 787 books with pitifully few of that number actually read. So I'm joing @CBee & #ReadYourKindle.

I have mostly romance of varying spice which is hilarious because I'm not a heavy romance reader! But I enjoy these usually quick reads.

I usually pick up free books so this is why my list is mostly romance. However, books 15-20 is either fantasy, Kindle first picks, or mystery.

Here's hoping this is the nudge to get through my Kindle books.

CBee I‘ll add you to my tag list - welcome! 😊 3mo

Are there any Littens who can help me? Google has failed me! 🙀When I read ebooks I often end up reading on the kindle app on a device that isn‘t my actual ereader for whatever reason, and I‘m not sure what the ereader does, but the app ALWAYS opens a new book to page 1 instead of the cover page which I hate! Does anyone know a way to change this setting? I haven‘t been able to find one but playing around with the app or by asking google.

Suet624 Same thing happens to me. 1y
AnnR Although not exactly the same situation, for comparison I downloaded a new ebook through the Kindle app on my Kindle Fire, which is considered to be an android device. It automatically opened to the prologue. There isn't anything in the advanced settings (that I can find) to override that and make it open to the cover.I am wondering if that is just the way the Kindle app works, no matter which device you are using. Sorry, I cannot be more helpful. 1y
TrishB I just manually go back to start at the cover page. I don‘t know how you do it automatically though. (edited) 1y

eeclayton I have a super old Kindle and it does the same thing. I agree that might be just a Kindle thing, regardless of the device. 1y
IndoorDame @eeclayton @Ann_Reads @Suet624 thanks, I figured it might just be a kindle thing, but I was hoping I was just missing something… 1y
IndoorDame @TrishB yup, that‘s exactly what I do :) for some reason it just really irritates me 🤣 1y
TrishB Understandable 😁 1y
Read4life It‘s a kindle thing. I wish it could be changed. 1y
batsy I hate that it does that too! I just manually go back to the front, as well. 1y
IndoorDame @batsy I totally appreciate the solidarity! It‘s always nicer to have company hating something 😆 1y

So, I bought one. I get the Prime free book a month. I still like a physical book....

Ruthiella I also prefer a physical book over an ebook. But having an ebook really opens up your options. During most of 2020 my library books were ebooks. 3y
TiredLibrarian Keep an eye out for freebies & bargain books too- one of the best parts of having a Kindle! 3y
Bookwormjillk I finally caved and bought one too. It is nice for reading in bed. 3y

My 2015 kindle paperwhite wasn‘t charging anymore so I traded in and up to the Oasis!!! Not like I need another... I still have my 2018 paperwhite. Oh well! Treat yourself!!! 😍

TrishB No excuses needed! 3y
Cathythoughts Absolutely treat yourself... I‘ve had the Oasis for a few years now .. it‘s good 👍🏻😁 3y
eanderson @TrishB @Cathythoughts 😀Thank you both for making me feel better about the splurge! I knew I could count on Littens to help me justify it! 💕💕 3y
