A Tale of Magic... | 
When I saw these in a bookstore recently I just had to have them. The circle is a cut out and the cover underneath is different and fabulous. I've been a fan of his since his glee days and have heard good things about his writing. I look forward to reading this series.

pickLand of Stories was a good series and this is book one of the new series. Brystal lives in the Southern Kingdom that has banished any magical creature to the in-between, girls are not allowed to read and they go to school just to learn to be mothers and wives. This story contains a magic school and 5 students who try to turn their world into a nicer world for all to live in. Think this series is best for upper middle grades.

The author in this story uses very descriptive words like glimmering, trees so thick you can barely see, etc. I visualized what it was like to live in the four kingdoms of Magic. Especially what it was like for King Champion when all of his servants disappeared and Mme Weadlerberry showed up with 2 students that she had taken care of. I could picture and imagine King Champions shock because if that happened to me I would be spooked

Well considering the fact that their is magic involved no.I don't think that these events will happen in real life.Considering the fact that I've only read the prologue and one chapter and based off the books title. This story is about magic that flows within you and everyone has a piece of them that is special but I don't think anyone can just convoquer up a unicorn carriage out of nowhere.I can tell by the choice of words he uses.

This book uses a story about magic and magic users to explain how corrupt governments and religions oppress the LGBTQ community and I am HERE FOR IT! ?? It's actually amazing and took my breath away from page one. I wish it had been in my life when I was an early teen. This is a story of hope and uprising that I really needed.
pickI was thrilled to see Colfer created another series to tie in with the marvelous and magical world he created with The Land Of Stories. I don‘t want to spoil anything, but all I will say that we NEEDED the origin story of the magical community and we got it! With his sassy wit, his humor, and both new and old characters, you are in for a treat with this first installment of Colfer‘s new series.

pickAs an educator, middle grade books have a soft spot in my heart. This book is a wonderful and magical story full of hidden messages that will educate young readers! The allegories toward the LGBT community and acceptance of yourself will not be missed.
