Somehow got pulled into this one…I‘m not at all a scary story girl, but it‘s proving like Jaws…I just need to know what happens 😳.

A bonus selection c/o @MaleficentBookDragon for this round of #LMPBC. It took some time to get into, but was ultimately an enjoyable read. While I won‘t go back for a re-read it would be intriguing to see the hints dropped along the way building to the big reveal. The stories w/in the story were tough to follow at times, though I understand their use and did enjoy The Revenant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️+ (3.5 ⭐️).
It was 2 and 2, so I literally flipped a coin. The winner for my pick for #LMPBC #ROUND12 #GroupW is The Ghost Writer!
👻👻👻👻 I loved the #Victorian #gothic homage tone of the book but the usage of the 4 #ghost stories written by the great grandmother didn‘t totally work for me. While The Revenant tied into the plot, the other stories made the overall story disjointed. My other quibble is Gerard is in the too stupid to live category of main characters. It‘s an open ending but I assume he died due to STUPIDITY. #scarathlon #teamstoker @TheReadingMermaid
Starting this one tonight have heard good reviews..what do you think?
My book haul! Cant wait to start one which one do u think first???
#TBRtemptation post 1! Viola Hatherly was a writer of ghost stories in the 1890s. Her great-grandson in Australia discovered her work in a secret drawer. His life is irrevocably changed. Why does his mother attempt to protect him from old manuscripts? Why should they entwine around his own life? He'll find out in London with the terror of a real-life ghost story. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
I haven't read this novel with a #bookwithinabook yet but it DOES sound atmospheric and a teeny bit creepy. 😬 #ReadJanuary
Sometimes I hold onto books just to remind me to keep tabs on the author. This is one of those. A great spooky story... & I just looked him up - he's got more! 😊
