This week‘s library haul includes a few comics and a trendy romance.

I read Junji Ito for the first time last week, and it‘s easy to see why he‘s hailed as the king of horror manga. This guy knows his way around the creep factor. I‘m glad my library owns so much of his work.

My last manga for a bit! I enjoyed this one more than the last junji ito. Very cool!

As always, the artwork is stunning

A collection of short horror stories in manga form. My favorites were Earthbound and Smashed. Earthbound was very melancholy, and Smashed had a great dark humor.

Junji Ito‘s “Smashed” is a collection of 13 short stories that all follow a horror theme. Smashed does an amazing job at giving the reader an unsettling feeling not only by the disturbing imagery but the story itself. If you like books with good shock value that follow creepy storylines, I would definitely recommend this book.

Didn‘t read as much spooky fare as I meant to, but I still have a sliver of time to sneak some in

Methinks I should stop reading this story while I‘m ahead, lol. The beginning sounds like the ideal life... but this story exists in a collection of horror manga, so something sinister is no doubt around the corner. Hopefully the books survive unscathed. Priorities, right?! 😂

So glad to have read this one. It has such great stories. I think favorite would be EarthBound but its so hard to say really. I will definitely be reading more of his :)

Just finished this one :) I really enjoyed the beauty of the drawings and the just weird stories. They were haunting and bizarre but so well worth the read :)

So this one fits the #TeamTheme .. I had a #Mystery (why are they Earthbound?) as well as #Suspense (a bit of a twist of why they were bound) ...

Earth of Prime Time

I don't think this one really fits the #TeamTheme... But it was great! I really am enjoying these comics :) They are very interestingly drawn too :)

BloodSucking Darkness

I think this one fits under the #Suspense category. It sucked you in but it was bizarre and you didn't know what was happening (I guess it could also be considered monster?) Hmm.. Well I am going with #TeamTheme of suspense.

Book mail! Two very different books that coincidentally have matching color schemes. 🧡

Very classic Junji Ito. I think Earthbound is my favourite story in this collection, as it has his classic unknowable and unstoppable force of horror.

I swear Junji Ito gets more werid with each book.
He doesn't disappoint.
The art and stories are on point like normal.
Werid and creepy with plenty of "WTF" moments.
