Just read the section about Dracula's brides.
Honestly, l'd be happy to read on 😜
Even if it's taking longer than it would be if l read the book on my own, l quite like the rhythm. And l'm loving the increasingly gothic atmosphere.
Just finish the entry from May 12 and took out the book to see ho it is arranged.
It"s really quite different. There is such a long section from Jonathan's POV before the narration moves to the girls.
The end of the entry with che Count climbing down his palace wall was quite upsetting and so very gothic.
I'm enjoying it.

I usually have trouble reading classics, and I've never read Dracula, so I've been doing the Dracula Daily emails. I'm loving getting the book in bite sized chunks, so far, and I think reading along with the events of the book in real time will be very interesting. Is anyone else reading Dracula this way right now?

Feeling a little bit better about my non-accomplishments now 😂
I'm surprised by how little I actually knew about this classic. Its structure in particular fascinated me. It built slowly to what seemed like a disturbing climax & then the tension eased back again as the next disturbing event began for the next characters. This made it easier to read as someone who is a complete coward about horror novels. It felt more continuously creepy than disturbingly scary, which I appreciated. Glad I finally braved it!
Yes please 🦇

I loved listening to this. Alan Cumming's performance of
Dr. Seward was especially good 🧛🏻♂️
