I can never forget this scene! The first time I read Persuasion it was my before-bed read. I woke up in the middle of the night with a nightmare and grabbed the book so I could calm down and go back to sleep. The very next paragraph I read was the one where Louisa falls! It‘s the most stressful scene in all of Austen and not exactly calculated to help me fall asleep 😂 #PemberLittens
