🦄 The Last Unicorn 🦄

Did anyone else adore this movie in the eighties? I only recently realized that it was based on a book and learned from a friend that this graphic novel version existed.

I ordered this from overseas and it wasn‘t supposed to arrive until mid-February. I am elated by its early arrival and mesmerized by the magical memories flipping through it has produced.

What a whimsical book! The movie is very close to it, which is rare and wonderful. I‘ve always loved the movie and I also love the book, now that I‘ve finally read it. in case you don‘t know the story: you should change that!! It‘s so beautiful 💕 4/5⭐️

Next up! I‘m much looking foward to finally reading this! I love the movie and I have the title song stuck in my head everytime I see the book😂

Comic Lesechallenge Tag 30 - letzter Tag & damit Zeit für ein Resümee: Meine Favoriten. Das letzte Einhorn nimmt eine Sonderausstellung ein, weil es natürlich immer noch so schön ist, aber der Versuch, sowohl Buch als auch Film gerecht zu werden, ist nicht ganz geglückt. Der Film für sich ist gut. Das Buch ist wesentlich besser. Die Graphic Novel ist ... unausgeglichen. Es fehlen einfach noch ein paar Seiten, um es runder zu machen.

Comic Lesechallenge Tag 21: Eine interessante Info über den Autor des CR soll es sein. Da ich nach dem letzten Einhorn noch zu nichts neuem gekommen bin, also Peter S. Beagle. Anscheinend gibt es gute Neuigkeiten, was den Prozess gegen seinen ehemaligen Manager angeht. Der Herr bezeichnet sich ungerechtfertigt als Co-Autor. Außerdem hat Beagle das Drehbuch für den Herr der Ringe Trickfilm sowie 1 Folge StarTrek:TnG geschrieben

Comic Lesechallenge Tag 19: Wieviele sind in deinem CR bereits ums Leben gekommen? Diese Frage ist nicht so leicht zu beantworten. Die einen sterben & erwachen doch wieder, andere sind tot & leben, wieder andere sind außerhalb der Geschichte gestorben & werden trotzdem darin erwähnt. Nur die Hexe ist ganz"normal" gestorben.

Ich hätte gerne die Stelle genommen, an der Prinz Lir für die Lady Amalthea singt, um ihre Alpträume zu verscheuchen, aber so gut umgesetzt finde ich die Szene nicht. Diese sieht romantisch aus, so in Herzchenform. Gewisse Leute würden es wahrscheinlich mehr als sexistisch ansehen, wenn ein männliches Einhorn in einen Mann verwandelt wird, Freud vermutlich ...

Comic Lesechallenge Tag 14 mit meinem (bisherigen) Lieblingsdialog aus dem CR 📖 Die Spinne, die an sich selbst glaubt & so die Magie von Mommy Fortuna verstärkt. Das Netz leuchtet & funkelt so schön. Wie das Einhorn feststellt, ist sie definitv nicht wie die anderen Geschöpfe im Mitternachts Circus.

Krankes Kind geht vor & darum fiel #CLCN gestern auch komplett aus. (Als Lieblingsreihe könnte ich auch höchstens AD Police damals aus der Manga Power nennen, aktuell gibt's da nix)

#SomeoneElseReading was a really tough one! I almost gave up and then thought that at least one of my graphic novels should show someone reading and TA DA! Here is Lir reading one of his poems to Molly.
The artwork is overall beautiful, but I have to say that it's almost too beautiful. Sometimes I felt like getting a sugar shock from all the beauty and sweetness. But then the right day came and I could finish it in one sitting 😅#FallintoBooks

It's hard to pick a #bestofjuly, but I'll go with this gorgeous graphic novel adaptation of The Last Unicorn. #jubilantjuly

Beautifully done. Just as heartwrenching and poignant as the original, plus absolutely wonderful art. (This has always been my favorite scene.)

But wow, could they have found a smaller font for those interviews at the end?!

Oh, this is promising.

I don't think l'll be able to read the Tolkien book, but l hope to at least finish The Last Unicorn - The Lost Version by tonight

I adore the original novel, and the 1982 movie, so this adaptation seemed like a sure bet. Unfortunately, while the artwork does draw from the movie, the characters are a little too pretty, though I do adore the spreads and scenic images. Overall the story seemed pretty true, but felt rushed in the latter issues, like it would have benefited from extra issues to finish things off properly. #graphicnovel #fantasy #classics

This is a book that, more than most, embraces the sweetness of the brevity of life. That it portrays this in a way that leaves one almost in tears is simply a bonus. You will put this book down never looking at stories the same way again.
