Lots of nostalgic fun reading this one again! #teamslaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick

BethM I had Molly. It was everything to me to see and read about a mousy haired girl with glasses. 3y

My Mom & Grandma got this book when I was 8. It came with My American Girl doll, Molly 🤓 I don‘t have Molly anymore (27 years later) but I still have the book 😊

So the one bit of Black Friday shopping I did for myself was get this adorable little mini Molly. I just couldn‘t help myself. Molly was my girl and I still have my doll from the early 90s. This Molly has a new meet outfit, maybe they are bringing her back?!, and with the plaid skirt and red shoes I figured she would fit in for Christmas.

Bklover Love her glasses!! 6y

Love Mrs. McIntire‘s outfit here. 30s/40s fashion has long been a favorite of mine and Molly may have been part of the reason for that. 🙂 #throwbackreadathon

ReadingSusan Oh man I love the illustrations in the Molly book. I bought a set of Samantha and Kirsten books a few years ago and was livid that they they changed the illustrations! I have no idea why they did that. 7y

#riotgrams day 9- author or character that shares my name. I couldn't think of a book I read with a "Valerie" character, but Valerie Tripp wrote the American Girl books and I LOVED them as a kid. I passed them all on to my daughter then my niece. I'm glad they have been so enjoyed through the years.

I dressed up as a few literary characters growing up. Here is me as Molly McIntire probably 20 years ago 😀 #booktober #characteriddressupas

geodynamical_nonfiction What a great share. Your taste in books and toys remind me so much of my little sister. Will you be my sister-in-literature? :) 8y

Love today's #OctPhotoChallenge theme of #90stoys. I LOVED the American girl dolls. I had Molly McIntire, because she was the most contemporary of the original five. I tried to find the photo of me and my Molly doll (who was sadly lost when my parents' basement flooded) in matching pajamas. I'm going to look for it later to share. I used to love to read Molly the books included in her box set, the first of which was Meet Molly.

Lacythebookworm Molly was my favorite! 8y
katedensen @Lacythebookworm You have excellent taste. 😉 8y
cariashley I was a Molly girl too!!! LOVE this! 8y

katedensen @cariashley I really need to find the photo--I was eight and missing my two front teeth and it's adorable. 8y
PNWBookseller85 I had Samantha. And then later one of the look-alike dolls, which I named after myself. #narcissist 😂 8y
katedensen @BeckyMerilatt I had a lookalike doll that looked nothing like me because they didn't make dolls with curly hair. In hindsight, I'm surprised I named mine "Elizabeth," and not "Kate." I was a late narcissist bloomer, I guess. ? 8y
cariashley @BeckyMerilatt @katedfisher I'm so jealous of you both. I wanted a second doll so badly but my mother was adamant I couldn't have another since I was already spoiled enough as an only child 😤😒😇 and I'd love to see that photo! 8y
katedensen @cariashley Don't be too hard on your mom. You're probably a more well-adjusted adult than I am haha 8y
