On to the next!
April 2021 - reread - my least favorite plot and book of the early editions.
“All I really wanted to do was #cuddle back under the blankets, maybe with a certain stuffed toy #penguin I knew. Yeah, hiding sounded good.” #QuotsyJan21
Anita ducks and dives and is burnt, bruised, cut and tempted and still she survives, soul and morals intacted.
Circus has Anita as a pawn in a turf war between Jean-Claude the Master of the city and two ancient Master vampire.
With her soul in the balance the last thing she needs to be worried about is her dating status but that also rears its head in the form of a High school science teacher that is somehow entangled in this all too, 3/5 stars
“There was dried chicken blood imbedded under my fingernails.“
Loving this book.

I‘m reading this series with my partner and for Valentine‘s Day we finished the third book. Really enjoying these books so far and I can‘t wait to get started on the next one.
My review of this book is located on my Youtube Vlog at:

Enjoy!
Finished another Anita Blake audiobook today, just in time for the last day of the #Scarathlon #readathon. It‘s the 3rd book in the series, Anita is still struggling with her connection to Jean-Claude, the Vampire Master of the City. When another powerful vampire comes to challenge him, she‘s very tempted to turn him over to the newcomer. But who is Mr Oliver really? 11points to #TeamSlaughter #PointsTotal-1,796
This series seems to be getting darker with each novel. I also like the fact that we have well Vampires and Hunting of vampires in this novel. I am loving the unfolding of the vampire world. The question will be can I continue to tolerate Anita she is becoming a tad annoying - that may be by product of having read three books in a row with the same character.
This is a reread / second attempt at this series and the audiobook may be a mistake. Every time the narrator channels the sexy French vampire, I have a harder and harder time not wincing. "Ma petite" never sounded more ridiculous.
Sometimes after a really long day of work (clocked 13 hours today), I just need something familiar and dark, with strong hints of sarcasm and cynicism.
Finished this last night, it was so good!!! The early books in this series are miles apart from the recent ones. It went from 0 sex to constant sex!! I dont have a problem with sexy books its just that this series had such a good story!!
Anita Blake book 3 “Loving the monsters always ends badly for the human. It‘s a rule.” 🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡 #urbanfantasy
#characters2017 Day 3 I think Edward from the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series would fall into Slytherin. #slytherin
Yeah, ok, it's better than the first two books. Not great, but not awful. And there is something that makes me want to keep reading — in part it's trying to figure out what it is that I found so compelling and addictive in the series when I first read it; but also knowing that there are better story lines coming. If I didn't know that, I don't think I'd keep reading this, based on how I feel now. How can our tastes and feelings change so much?
😏😏
I have to admit that I don't entirely disagree with her there. I don't mind a man opening the restaurant door for me if we are on a date, but the car door? Where I have to wait until he runs around to my side? That's just awkward. I'd rather open my own door.
Ok, maybe I won't take a break after all 😁
I previously gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️; let's see how I feel about it this time around 🙂 #AnitaBlake #reread
Circus of the Damned really pushed the Anita Blake series well for the third book. We finally get to meet the infamous Richard (such a love hate thing there—especially since I've been a fan of Jean-Claude since day 1) and we get to fight beside the best vampires in the Midwest. Her details are gruesome and fantastic. On audio, the mix of sound effects and descriptions had me cringing and squeezing the steering wheel extra tight. I loved it. Again.
