The latest unfinished bedside table book I‘m picking back up.
This was an entertaining read with some expected and unexpected twists about the demise of an aristocratic family and their way of life. Gossipy in a way that keeps you going even when some of the plot points are overdrawn. (Why do so many novels seem too long these days?) I loved hating Countess Dowager Clarissa Trelawney who conjures a modern Downton Abbey counterpart to Violet Crawley. 😙
Enjoying the aristocratic dysfunction of the Trelawney clan on audio. Nothing like a crumbling estate story to enjoy the hot water from our tap.
Cricket doesn‘t care what I‘m listening to so long as he‘s comfy.
Starting #fabulousfebruary with House of Trelawney. Looking forward to hunkering down with an actual physical book.
I came back from a month helping my parents and DIVE into this hilarious-from-chapter-one spearing of the Old Guard. Delicious, especially with tea.

Such a fun read. If you loved The Nest than you gotta try this one.
I ordered these two last week and both covers are amazing.
So March was a month where I probably read the least in so many years! The distraction right now has been so great! I found it hard to focus on reading.
But I loved all 4 of these books! Perhaps House of Trelawney comes out as best of the bunch.
This was a really great book. Fantastic characters and excellent storytelling. The house was as much a character as the people, just like in The Dutch House.
So a couple of years ago it was epic sagas with trees that I was reading, this year it seems to be excellent stories with houses. 🙂
This book, WOW! A total #blameitonlitsy - I can‘t remember who posted about an ARC they received and reviewed it, but I was intrigued. A great page-turner 👍🏻 A definite recommend for ‘Downton Abbey‘ fans; imagine that show during the financial crisis of 2008 and BOOM! 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I went and visited my parents this President‘s Day weekend, which is always a treat 🥰 And I got to start this new book, “House of Trelawney” by Hannah Rothschild. So far I‘m enjoying it, hoping that continues 🤞🏼
And now something really special! This novel is hilarious in that ironic British way for which I‘m a total sucker, and it features: a zany titled family, each character beautifully drawn; romance; class clashes; plot twists; vengeful villains. The economic collapse of 2008 mirrors the collapse of the estate, Trelawney Castle in Cornwall. Perfect for a miniseries. The romance is annoyingly flaky but that‘s the only fault I can find. #NetGalley #arc
Calling it now. This will be a BBC comedy miniseries. An aged minor princess (not a main character) reminisces about splendid country house parties of her youth en route to Trelawney Castle. #arc #netgalley #anglophilesoflitsy
