I love YA and kidslit, so much so that I have a Masters Degree in Children's Literature. I fell in love with books at a very young age and I love the hope in kidslit that I find often missing in adult books.

dabbe I took a children's lit course for my masters in reading, and it was my favorite class of all time. 🤩🤗😍 7mo
AbigailJaneBlog @dabbe honestly it's so amazing, and so fascinating to learn about! 😍 7mo

It's a very dense complex read for right now, when my brain isn't able to process too much complexity!

4 of the replacements for the Staff Picks #BooksAboutBooks Display! I especially love this display, because this was the first time one of our newer colleagues shared some books with everyone and she was nervous about its success. Let me tell you, almost all her picks blew off the shelves within a few days! It was AWEsome! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Have you read any of these?!

Books are sorted and shelved. The house that books built. Caveat: This does not include the shelves in our three bedrooms. 🧚🏼‍♀️📚 Now I can say we have officially moved in.

#TBRtemptation post 3! *points pointer finger (right hand's)* Who among you got the reading bug seemingly before your remembered memories? Me too, which is why I want this book. This is a memoir focused on childhood books. FS was massively influenced and developed by them. Wind in the Willows, Narnia, Little House on the Prairie. Because of his indebtedness, he's studied how books shape children. & he has stuff to tell! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Libby1 This is a great book. @TheLondonBookworm is one of Francis Spufford's students! He's also recently written Golden Hill, which is on my TBR list. 7y
TheLondonBookworm @Libby1 ☺️ i'm so chuffed someone remembered that! He is the nicest person you could ever hope to meet and a legendary tutor to an aspiring writer :) also a brilliant writer himself :) enjoy! 7y

I ❤ this book shelf! Most of it is TBR 😬 but I think it's gorgeous.

I tagged The Child That Books Built because it is an excellent autobiography of the author's early relationship with books. It was brought to mind again after the post by @TheLondonBookworm 🙂.

The similarity between Francis Spufford (top) and Neil Gaiman (bottom) would be almost uncomfortable -- if so many of us did not also have the same experience. Long live Narnia.

Mayread Wow. That's cool how they had similar experiences but obviously took different things from the books. 8y
readinginthedark I definitely had that experience. I read other things that I enjoyed, but it was a while before I felt such a strong connection to a book or series. 8y

This book looks somewhat interesting, buried in with all the other "treasure," including an 1897 Sears catalog...real antiques here.

MrBook Oooh, nice pic! 8y
