Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer
Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer: The Death Row Interviews | Stephen G. Michaud, Hugh Aynesworth
What goes on in the mind of a serial killer? Drawn from more than 150 hours of exclusive tape-recorded interviews with the handsome, charismatic Bundy, whose grisly killing spree left at least 30 young women dead, this chilling expos provides a shocking self-portrait. Speaking eerily in the third person, Bundy reveals appalling details about his crimes and methods and recounts his two daring jailbreaks. Bundy also offers his thoughts on other infamous serial killers. Here's the book features: Told via a third-person "confession," Bundy details how, and often why, he killed many of his 30-odd victims, including how he lured them and how they were killed. Bundy reveals his motivations, his tactics, and how he evaded law enforcement on a victim-by-victim basis. Much of the book is told is Q&A form, making it detailed a window into the thinking of a serial murder, as explained by one.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was especially disturbing on audio as a separate narrator read the Bundy parts, and if you can let your brain go, it seems like it was actually him. The fascination with serial killers is disturbing, yet here I am. It‘s that desire to try to understand, but there is no rationality. Bundy was truly delusional. How the interviewer got him to speak in third person about his crimes was brilliant.

Definitely a psychopath, until the very end. Think of a book coming out of 150+ hours of interview with a serial killer. I was excited to read it. But it wasn't a good one. You get to see how his mind works, and what a weird place it is to be in.
I'd suggest the books on Bundy by Ann Rule and Elizabeth Kendall if you are looking for something insightful and interesting.

So eerie. The narrator did an amazing job at capturing Bundy's indifference while he inserted himself into the crimes he "absolutely didn't commit" . A psychopath until the very end.

Starting over sounds better than going back after a long break.

GondorGirl I'm at the same point... trying to decide before the big update. 🤔 3y
Kimberlone Hadn‘t played in 6 months and just restarted. Hate how my island looks and have been trying to terraform, but it takes so long and I don‘t have a talent for making it look aesthetically pleasing :/ 3y
FantasyChick @Kimberlone Same. I don't understand how people make these gorgeous islands. They are definitely more dedicated and talented than I am 😆 3y
FantasyChick @GondorGirl That's what made the decision for me. It's been so long since I played but I wanted to get back in before the update and the thought of going back to my island after all this time just turned me off. I wish I would have been smart enough to move all my bells and good items before I deleted though. I forgot how slow it is to start from scratch 🤣 3y

True-crime is so much more chilling than fictional crime. There‘s just something about knowing it really happened.

Currently sitting on the toddler's bed trying to sneak in a couple pages while he chills with some Paw Patrol and plays with the remote he isn't supposed to have.

It might only last 5 mins or so....but 5 mins of reading is better than zero mins 👍

FantasyChick @LeahBergen It really is but it's also my favourite! That angle is so unsettling. Really let's you know what your getting yourself into 3y

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thanks to #netgalley and #mirror books for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. A fascinating true crime read. Comprised of revealing conversations with Ted whilst he was imprisoned. It's a chilling read, the way Ted speaks a lot in 3rd person and "if I did it" all whilst repeatedly claiming his innocence. It literally gave me goosebumps just how narcissistic and manipulative he was. A dark fascinating read.

This was a chilling first hand account from Ted Bundy himself of what he did but never came clean about until the night before his death sentence was carried out.

I found myself been charmed by Ted Bundy and that scared me once I remembered his crimes, I can understand how he was able to make women drop their guard around him.

This is a eye opening book and gives you an idea of how his mind work. It's a dark place to be

This book is crazy! Reading the things Bundy said, how he would only talk about his crimes in the third person, is chilling.

In interview form, this book gives insight on just exactly what Ted Bundy's mind was like. Some people might not like the way it was written, as it is in 3rd person, but the book clearly explains why they took that approach. Someone being so intrigued with true crime, I was interested the whole time. It was interesting to hear his thought process and what really goes through serial killers minds

Day 11 - #psychokiller #octoberxfiles

Drawn from more than 150 hours of exclusive tape-recorded interviews with Bundy, this collection provides shocking insights into the killer's 11th-hour confessions before his death in a Florida electric chair. A unique, horrifying self portrait of one of the most savage sex killers in history.

Lcsmcat True story: we found out, years after we bought it, that Ted Buddy had lived in our basement when he was in law school at the University of Utah. We didn‘t share that fact when we sold the house. 🤭 6y
Cinfhen That‘s crazy cool 😜😱😱 @Lcsmcat 6y
Cinfhen Part of me wants to read this book and the other part is too afraid to even think about reading those reports. 6y

EadieB @Cinfhen I think we should do a buddy read. He was such a unique person that fooled so many people! 6y
Cinfhen I‘d read this with you!! Just need to find a reasonably priced copy ~ I‘ll do some sleuthing!!! 6y
EadieB @Cinfhen It is very expensive but we could read Ann Rule‘s book 6y
Cinfhen I just saw that one is pretty reasonable from kindle!!! I‘m up for it but to be read in November?!? Is that ok 👍🏻 6y
Cinfhen I‘ve been wanting to read the AnnRule for awhile 6y
Chrissyreadit I would love to join in if that would be ok? 6y
EadieB @cinfhen @Chrissyreadit ok I found my paperback copy of Ann Rule‘s book The Stranger Beside Me and it has 548 pages that we can read about 110 Pgs for 5 days starting Thursday November 15th. Is that a good time for both of you? (edited) 6y
Cinfhen Oh wow! That‘s a lot of pages... I can definitely start on November 15 but not sure I can commit to 110 pages a day @EadieB @Chrissyreadit .... we can try to wrap it up before Thanksgiving but it might take me a bit longer because I have company coming for a few days (edited) 6y
Cinfhen I‘m happy u want to join us @Chrissyreadit 6y
EadieB @Cinfhen do you want another start date with less pages and longer days to read, tell me the amount of pages you can handle in a day and I can adjust it. @Chrissyreadit 6y
Cinfhen Ill be reading on a kindle so it‘s hard to even figure out pages...how many chapters are there? 6y
Cinfhen I can also start on the 12th... 6y
Chrissyreadit I would love more days, less pages because I have grad classes too- I think will also do kindle. Nov 12 - 24 would work for me. 6y
EadieB @cinfchen I will be posting the chapters because other may have a hardback or a different book. The first section of 110 pages are about 11 chapters but some are long and some are short chapters. It easier to use page count to separate into even reading sections. So if you want 50 Pgs a day, 6 chapters, that would be an 11 day read. 75 Pgs a day would be a 7 day read at 9 chapters. Just so you know. (edited) 6y
EadieB @cinfhen @Chrissyreadit ok we will start the book on Saturday November 10 and read about 50 pages a day and finish on November 20 which will be an 11 day read at about 50 pages a day. I will post the buddy read and the chapters to be read each day and will invite whoever wants to join in. 6y
Chrissyreadit Perfect!!! 6y
Cinfhen Ok, that sounds much more doable @Chrissyreadit @EadieB 👍🏻 6y
EadieB @Cinfhen @Chrissyreadit Ok the book is separated. The first section is 62 pages, the last section is 74. The other sections are about 50 pages each. It is a 10 day read from November 10 thru November 19. 6y
