This was compelling. And not from a "he's so hot" kinda way. The fact that he elicited that kind of response from women is just mind boggling. And terrifying. If you're into true crime and haven't read this, I highly recommend it. Though it did make me trust good looking white guys even less than I did before ?
Up next.
He was rumored to have come through my hometown of Orange Park, FL before he was caught. I have friends that were in sororities at FSU and they STILL pointedly talk about security at their houses. The day he was executed, the radio stations were giving away “Fried Bundy Fingers”for the “x” callers and we all celebrated (and my 8th grade teacher cried). I honestly can‘t believe I‘m just now reading this.

#temptingtitles #withme this a truth is stranger than fiction story. Ann Rule is researching a story about some murdered girls while at the same time befriending a co-worker named Ted Bundy. Fascinating read.

How creepy can you make the cover!
I get it, it was the 80s. I just went on a TB curiosity spree and got hold of this. I loved some of the never known insights and specifications of the whole phenomenon. Some details creeped me out, but I anyway wanted to know the psyche of TB. Also, as much as Ann denies it, I could totally see her weird attachment with TB. Currently reading Elizabeth's perspective to know the differences. Let's discuss?

✨ (both horrify me…) Haunted house
✨ Tagged above. I have never been so absorbed in a book. Not even close. So well written, shockingly horrifying - still haunts me to be honest. On youtube you can find the best narration of it. #truecrime @MoonWitch94
Today I‘m sharing a black #bookstack. I saw people on Instagram sharing pictures of a black #bookstack and I wanted to try it out. I haven‘t read these books yet.
It feels odd to end the TB journey with this book (versus begin).
Of course, this is a pic! I loved learning more about Bundy from a woman who knew him personally. Also, it very much reads like her coming to terms with finding out the young man she befriended could be such a horrible man as well. I love the duality of it all.

I am both intrigued and grossed out. It‘s pretty clear that Ann Rule was attracted to Bundy. The way she shades his unassuming girlfriend Liz is weird; particularly taking shots at her looks etc. #truecrime #audiobook #quickreads
At first, I really enjoyed The Stranger Beside Me as a spooky read… but as the end grew closer, and the impact of Bundy‘s crimes became more tangible, it was no longer spooky so much as desperately sad. It‘s a mind-blowing excellent read, but it made me Feel A Lot Of Things (which is a testament, really, to its excellence, and Rule‘s skill as a true crime writer). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘m a pretty enormous chicken shit, but while reading the graphic memoir “Murder Book,” I was finally motivated to pick up this classic. I knew very little about Bundy. FUCK THAT GUY. WTF. I‘m still stunned by the odd circumstances of this story and friendship. Ann Rule is so prolific; I‘m curious to read more of her work. Kinda want to read more about Bundy as well, but why??
PS. This cover is hideously insensitive.
🎧🧩 Just finished this pretty difficult puzzle only to find I‘m missing a piece. WHY?? 😩
#audiopuzzling
I haven‘t really read much true crime, but do watch some on TV. I always heard that Ann Rule worked along side Ted Bundy in the early 70‘s, but had no idea that she maintained a friendship with him. Even after she came to the realization that he was guilty of killing 30+ women, she continued to send stamps and small amounts of money to him in prison. She did feel that he should pay for his crimes. 3/5⭐️s
This is so boring. The audio book version is so dry. I just can't. I think I like true crime. I mean I love the Investigation ID Discivery channel and everything. However, this book is not for me. Any suggestions for a good true crime novel? I need one for a reading bingo board I'm working on. Thanks! 😊
👻🎉 and there‘s another bingo for #ItsBritneyWitch!
20pts for #TeamSlaughter
A thoroughly researched work, Rule‘s book is the definitive work in Bundy. Rule‘s personal friendship with Bundy (predating Bundy‘s crimes) makes for a unique piece of true crime writing, too. A difficult, but compelling read.
Chapter 12. Listening to narration by Lorelei King: (excellent accompaniment).

Sooo close!! 🤯
I don‘t even think Ted knew what he was REALLY LIKE.
When you are done hearing your human talk about serial killers!
#lmpbc #groupm I am just about to finish up with Bundy. Sorry, @Patchshank ! I plan to ship the book out either Monday or Tuesday, but I can expedite it if you need it ASAP!
It was lovely reading with you all! Feel free to stay in touch or suggest more true crime!
Keeping out of the heat in the basement and sitting with my boy who is about to experience fireworks for the first time. Reading about Ted Bundy is not self care while alone in the house 😂 holy shit, I‘m so nervous!
Guess what arrived today?! @Mynameisacolour #groupm #round11 #lmpbc This has been such a fun round! I feel like we have all picked up some very marketable skills from all this #truecrime.
Bookish problems. My little reading pal is being quite the distraction, mauling my feet because he isn't allowed to play with the tassel on the book mark😹🙀
@booksellerofyourdiscontent Would you mind if I kept this a bit longer? This month has really gotten away from me! I hope to get through it by the end of next week!
@reynosa8701 I got this in the mail yesterday!
@booksellerofyourdiscontent @rjsthumbelina did this months books make it to you?

Excited to start this one today!
Even though I am only a quarter done with this book (548 pages), it really makes you think twice about the people you meet. Just when you think you know somebody a bombshell gets dropped! Love this book so far! It is one of the author's best works!
Reading mojo returning slowly but surely, a positive thing to happen! Back into this true crime classic which had fallen to the bottom of the stack but it‘s keeping my attention now.
Anyone else so ready for the upcoming long weekend?
Ted Bundy book written by a crime/police journalist that actually knew Ted Bundy and hung out with him.
It‘s so creepy and good. I listened on audio and loved it.
Remember that it was written in 1986 originally so some terms are used in this book that we would not use today.
Unfortunately, this was another abridged audio. Again, I feel like it was done well, in that I didn‘t notice things that might have been missing. I just wish it had been the entire book! I read this one back in high school, but I didn‘t remember much of it. I actually hadn‘t remembered the author‘s friendship with Bundy at all. What I listened to was very good, but I would still like to reread the entire book.
Well, I did not go ahead with my Book Outlet order! I restrained myself. This year is the year of really reading the books I own. At least it is today. Going to work on this masterpiece of true crime, which I haven‘t read for years! I wanted to after watching the Zac Efron movie which was so good.
Blasting through this one on Audible while crafting and colouring. 30 chapters in two days! I find Bundy fascinating.
Ted Bundy was quite the individual. It's true what they say... you never really know a person and what they're capable of. He was definitely a master of manipulation.

1) I want to finish 5 books that I started in 2020 including the tagged, Precious Cargo, Lilac Girls, American Marriage, and Bad Doctor.
2) I want to do a daily workout, and stretch in the mornings. I also want to take physical activity breaks while I work.
So finish 5 books and workout for half an hour at least 21 days, also get up and move around during working hours.

I want to make this a “pick”, but it took me over two months to finish, so I don‘t think I can. It‘s pretty simple: this is a long ass book. There are interesting chapters in here, but there are definitely a lot of uninteresting chapters. I don‘t regret reading it, but I wouldn‘t recommend it to anyone who‘s not a die-hard true crime fan. Also, some of Ann‘s views on Bundy‘s execution didn‘t sit well with me at the end.
On my #bookquilt because Ann Rule and Ted Bundy were my gateway drug to True Crime (although to be 100% honest, it was the tv mini series starring Mark Harmon that sparked my interest in Bundy bc my parents were also murderinos).
I've been trying not to use the same books but there's only so many 😂
These might not be for everyone but these are #3books #IRecommend
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
It's considered a true crime classic for a reason! Very thorough, but never dry. And it was great (but long) on audio! Just don't do what I did at first and accidentally get the abridged version from the library. If it's less than 17 hours, try again 🙃
⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a half. AN OK BOOK.
Phewww... just cannot put it down. It‘s just that great. A genuine story told from the perspective of a person who once was a former colleague and a close friend of Ted Bundy and who coincidentally or as destiny willed it, eventually became a part of the investigation of the missing girls all leading to Bundy.

That moment when you spent several hours listening to a new audiobook only to discover it was an abridged version but in no way marked as such 😤
Though honestly it should have dawned on me sooner because I was so confused as to why this had so much praise given how rushed it felt. And frankly Ann's narration is terrible. Welp... at least now I'm on the waitlist for the right one 🙈
