Wow
How heartbreaking!!! What an ending! What a terrible time in history, and what power does to ppl with no one to keep them in check! I feel like I really got to know the people I have been reading through this series so to read how it turned out for so many of them is just jaw dropping- wonderfully written as always with Philippa Gregory
So close to finally finishing this book! I‘m kind of sad because I have fell in love with it!! It started out a bit slow- partly for me because this is the story of Margaret Pole and up until now she was not a favorite of mine, I‘m not sure exactly why now ! Or maybe as she got older she was more admirable- anyways it was a crazy time with Henry VIII 🤯
Ok so what really happened was I have got my books a bit out of order~ well just this one; but I‘m not bothered, it‘s kind of like a refresher 😃 Taking a look in my library and realizing I have a lot of books that revolve around Henry VIII
Here we go, next book in the series, but in this book I think it looks like we are going back several if not many years to take up the view of things from another family member , ok then 📚
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A fun if distressing read (because if the ending). Gregory's attention to detail and empathy for the human psychology is enhanced by her vivid imagination, lending a fully immersive narrative into medieval politics. Will definitely seek out more of her books!
I really enjoyed this installment of Philippa Gregory‘s series. I‘ve always found Margaret Pole to be one of the more interesting characters in the whole Plantagenet/Tudor saga. I can‘t imagine living the life of anxiety she must have endured knowing her family‘s safety was at the mercy of whatever political whim was currently prevalent. The author‘s note at the end was particularly interesting and food for thought.
The events if the Tudor reign told from the point of view of Margaret Pole, a Plantagenet niece of Edward IV and Richard III. Not my favorite of this series, but still good.
#currentlyreading also happens to fit the #londoncalling prompt 👏🏼👏🏼

Do you want a badass historical female? Do you want scheming, secrets and a quiet rebellion? Do you want a woman who does everything around her house while also playing the royal court like a chess game? This book is for you. Read about the kick ass story of Margaret Pole and learn why she is absolutely #goals
Starting this one today, I‘ve love everything I‘ve read by Philippe Gregory so hoping this one doesn‘t disappoint. Book 47/52
This book was truly phenomenal 👍As a big fan of Philippa Gregory I‘m not sure I can give a poor review of any of her books, because she never disappoints me. This book is brilliant 😊 I love the story of the Pole family and especially Margaret. Even though I knew the end from the start, I loved every page. I‘m not doing this book justice in this review so I‘ll just say: if you like historical fiction, read it 😘 you won‘t regret it 😊
Only 120 pages left and I have to work 😢 This cute gift from my valentine makes it a little more bearable 😘
New Philippa Gregory and I‘m digging in 😘 My mom found this one for me and boy am I glad. Gregory is brilliant😊 she brings history to life and she has yet to disappoint me 😊
I rarely so slam a book but I invested 25+ hours listening to it and I am so disappointed. 99% of the story is told in dialogue recollecting events that took place or bemoaning fear of what is to come. In other words, 99% of no action. Can anyone tell me whether this is this author 's usual style? What's worse is the narrator is so overly dramatic. I don't recommend it. 🌟🌟

Weird.....especially coming from her.
We are Plantagenet: we dine on a diet of betrayal and heartbreak.

Missed yesterday's #ReadJanuary I know that I have a lots of books about #royals (mostly Philippe Gregory's ) but this was the only one close to hand!
#royals #readjanuary I enjoy all types of books about royalty. Here's a stack of historical fact and fiction 📚
I am a huge fan of Tudor history and I love Philippa Gregory's focus on the women around the Cousins' War, so I could not wait to read this one. I expected to love it. Instead, I felt it dragged more and more as the book went on. I was interested to learn more about Margaret Pole, the main character in the book, but the writing didn't hold me in this book as it has in other books by Gregory. I'd rate this between a pick and a so-so.
Love when I get a sunbeam on my book ❤️ #reading #books #nerd #history #historybuff #cousinswar #philippagregory #thekingscurse #england #englishhistory
