Damn, I love it when I randomly stumble on a new-to-me author and I just get more and more excited to devour their backlist! This is my third book of his and, while not my fav of the three I've read so far, I was still completely hooked and completely off balance the whole time. Let me put it this way, I love crime fiction. And the last two times I was this excited about discovering a new auther it was Karin Slaughter and Michael Connelly 👏🏽 4⭐️

A well written book with an interesting premise for a murder mystery. The story starts when a young girls‘ family vanishes from her life and then fast forwards 25 years to the anniversary of the disappearance. There are some good twists to the story and the ending is a nice surprise! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 #AxeTheStacks

It only took me 4hrs to read this book, I couldn‘t put it down. Barclays 1st stand alone thriller(I think there‘s now a follow up book)while at times it struggled, turned into a cracking good read. Imagine as a teenager, waking up one morning to find your family has disappeared completely. For 25yrs you‘re left with the anxiety of not knowing what happened. What would you do? I'm 65 pages in and so far so good!! I needed something to calm me down after reading No Exit! #bedtimereading

I read this as a bit of a palate-cleanser on my commute during a difficult working week. I saw one of the ‘twists‘ coming, but not the other. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable book and then I realised that it would count towards #ReadingUSA2019 - yay! #connecticut

As an avid thriller reader, it is surprising to me that I have never read Linwood Barclay. I really enjoyed this backlist title of the disappearance of a family that leaves a young girl behind who spends her life trying to find answers. I‘m looking forward to reading the follow up to this story and many more titles by this author. #LitsyAtoZ #TheLetterN

This book did not turn out how I was expecting. I loved it! No sure why I put it off for so long. Need to find more books by this author.

This is undoubtably one of my favourite books on my bookshelf. I have just ordered the book set 7 years after this one. The twists and turns in the novel were incredible and always made me second guess myself. I cannot wait to fill my entire bookshelves with Linwood Barclays work.

I was given this book by a friend and I could not put it down! this book had me hooked from the beginning. This book constantly kept me on my feet, linwood Barclay is an amazing author and I can not wait to read the rest of his books!

Meh! It's ok I suppose as murder mysteries go; it's unpredictable in places and obvious in others. But I just didn't care about any of the characters or what happened to them! Plus it was wayyyy toooo long winded! 🙄

Excellent page turner. Some parts I guessed, others had me guessing right to the last page. I always like how Barclay is able to tie up all the loose ends in his books. This is the third of his that I've read, though it was his first novel. A quick, easy read.
