Mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham must discover what could make an entire community disappear--before it's too late--in this thrilling entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling Alpha and Omega series. In the wilds of the Northern California mountains, all the inhabitants of a small town have gone missing. It's as if the people picked up and left everything they owned behind. Fearing something supernatural might be going on, the FBI taps a source they've consulted in the past: the werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham. But Charles and Anna soon find a deserted town is the least of the mysteries they face. Death sings in the forest, and when it calls, Charles and Anna must answer. Something has awakened in the heart of the California mountains, something old and dangerous--and it has met werewolves before.

My EMOTIONS!!!!! My EMOTIONS!!!!! That ending 💔💔💔 and Leah‘s backstory just wow! I totally understand where her character has been coming from this whole time. I can‘t believe I now have to wait for the story to continue😢 I really hope she is planning a full cross over book with everyone soon. I can‘t recommend enough reading the Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ravenlee Yes! All of this! I never thought Leah would end up being a sympathetic character, but I should have had faith in PB. 1y
robinb I really, really need to read the Alpha and Omega series. I love her writing! I seem to have stopped after Mercy for some unknown reason. 🙄 1y

Read this so quickly I haven‘t even updated my database with its purchase yet! I have to admit, I‘m a little tired of the witches storyline, and the cliffhanger at the end made me want to scream, but this was a good installment. It‘s good to learn more about Leah‘s backstory, and I hope there‘s more development there. Definitely not a stand-alone. #SeriesRead2022 @TheSpineView

Great new installment to this series, they brought some closure to storylines that had been unresolved. We learned much more about Leah, her relationship with Bran, Sherwood Post and his past, plus I loved the new characters and Tag was a pleasant surprise, he needs his own book/spin off series now. And that epilogue, just when you think Briggs is wrapping up storylines and settling a series down, she drops off a whole adorable bundle of trouble.

April 2021 - Urban fantasy - so much amazing. It was different - deeper characters and story. Definitely glad that I reread the two previous books and then this one - happy dance

Please excuse bad photo, I was trying to get both doggies. This was a bit more horror than I like, but lots of interesting developments in the story and the world. A Power is growing again in Nor Cal, and the investigation will force our heroes to relive trauma (I‘m getting irritated with this constantly happening in the series, you can have growth you know) and utilize powers they don‘t normally use. 3/5 stars, i‘m glad Leah gets her story told

Popsugar Challenge #22

I always look forward to each new Patricia Briggs book. I don't know any other fantasy author who can seamlessly combine werewolves, witches, bigfoot, and HP Lovecraft and make it work as well as she does. Anna and Charles' relationship is so wholesome, and honestly, #goals.

Patricia Briggs is one of my must-buy authors. And book 6 of Alpha & Omega was fantastic as expected. I love Anna & Charles. And this one was interesting because we get to learn Leah‘s backstory. Even Coyote has a cameo.

9 hrs for #20in4

ShelleyBooksie Ohhh! Cannot wait to read. She is an auto-buy/must-buy author for me as well. 4y

I love a good mystery & there is nothing better than one that seems to have no answers. Anna & Charles were asked to investigate into a disappearance, though, not because of the people involved, but because of the location. They didn‘t really understand the significance, or the history, of what they were looking into and that was actually quite fun to be a part of. As a reader, I was right there with them uncovering facts and discovering truths.
