"Don't miss it. This is a great one!" -- Stephen KingSoon to be an Amazon TV seriesI am the legion of the night ...He appears in the darkness like a ghost, made of shadows and fear--the Midnight Man. He comes for the parents but leaves the children alive, tiny witnesses to unspeakable horror. The bedroom communities of Los Angeles are gripped with dread, and the attacks are escalating.Still reeling from her best friend's close call in a bombing six months ago, FBI behavioral analyst Caitlin Hendrix has come to Los Angeles to assist in the Midnight Man investigation and do what she does best--hunt a serial killer. Her work is what keeps her going, but something about this UNSUB--unknown subject--doesn't sit right. She soon realizes that this case will test not only her skills but also her dedication, for within the heart of a killer lives a secret that mirrors Caitlin's own past. Hesitancy is not an option, but will she be able to do what must be done if the time comes?Tense and impactful, Edgar Award winner Meg Gardiner's latest UNSUB thriller will leave you on the edge of your seat until its riveting conclusion.

I LOVE MEG GARDINER. The UNSUB series is like a book version of Criminal Minds 😍. The third book in the series doesn‘t disappoint and ends on a delightful teaser for the next book, which can‘t come fast enough. Definitely have to check out some of her other books. #pop21 - MC has your current or dream job: my dream job is to work for the BAU! #covidshotrecoveryreading

Shot 💉 number 2 has got me feeling like I‘m carsick all the time so I‘m curling up on the couch today with water, coffee, Harry Potter and the newest UNSUB novel. Grateful to be vaccinated and that the side effects don‘t hinder my reading!

It‘s pretty ridiculous that it took me 7 MONTHS to get this read, especially since I love the series. I blame other books getting in the way, but once I got to the halfway mark I couldn‘t put it down & finished it up. Dark, twisty & creepy.😱I suppose I can argue that it‘s timely because the mayhem takes place over the holidays🤷🏻‍♀️Caitlyn is a great character & I‘m glad Amazon is possibly going to make it a series. Looking forward to book 4!

The third (possibly final?) UNSUB book was probably the best in this series. Loved every twist and turn, and loved getting to see inside our heroine‘s mind a little more than the previous books. Highly recommend.

This was probably my favorite book in the series. It was action packed and fast paced. The writing was excellent and the imagery was great. I also heard this is being turned into a tv series and I cannot wait! Meg Gardiner has become one of my favorite thriller authors!

The finished Golden Summer Squash & Corn Soup from Eating Well Magazine, one of their 30 Soups Perfect for Summer (got to get some in before Labor Day).😉Love the lemon, thyme & feta cheese in it. Recipe link below.

Still trying to finish this book—slowly but surely which is not good for a thriller that I like & want to read but I am struggling lately to carve out reading time.😬

DebinHawaii Link to the soup with my changes to the Eating Well recipe: http://kahakaikitchen.blogspot.com/2020/09/golden-summer-squash-and-corn-soup-wi... 4y
rabbitprincess YUM soup with feta cheese sounds amazing! And squash soup especially! I love squash. 4y

DebinHawaii @rabbitprincess It‘s a good pairing—the squash & corn with the feta & lemon! So good! 😋 4y
DebinHawaii @Jess861 I eat soup all year long because it doesn‘t get that much cooler but I get that. 😉 Hope you get a chance to make it & that you enjoy it. 4y

No #audiosouping today. This was a quick pantry soup & I was talking on the phone but I did manage to get a few chapters of this one in over lunch. A good daylight read.😱The soup is a vegan Pinto Bean Soup heavily adapted from a Mark Bittman recipe with my favorite lime pickled red onions from Rick Bayless on top for a little zip. A good rainy day soup—even if our rain is warm.😉 Link to recipes 👇🏻

LitStephanie Yum! We have a recall on onions here and I don't see how I can cook anything without them. Your recipe looks great, though, thanks for sharing! 4y
DebinHawaii @LitStephanie Yes, a friend was just telling me about a red onion recall in some states. That would be so hard for me too! 😟Hopefully it won‘t last long. 4y

Read a few chapters of this a couple months ago & then left it in lieu of other books I had to read for reviews & book clubs. Starting over with a skim to reacquaint. Hope to finish this time as I like this series.

First time to breakfast at my happy place in a few weeks due to lack of time & the weather. I enjoyed reading by the water with the usual suspects (🌶🥑🍞& 🧊☕️) before running errands & the day starting to get humid. Happy Saturday.

This was a great psychological thriller that will make you want to leave the lights on.

What I love about the UNSUB series is how each installment is inspired by a real serial killer. I also love getting inside the mind of a killer from the profiler's point of view. It fascinates me. #wannabeprofiler #serialkiller #highlyrecommend

Today I‘m #grateful for Fridays, fried rice & friendly diner owners who remember your name & order even if you haven‘t been there in more than 3 months. I forgot my pizza leftovers for breakfast & parked by the local diner by my workplace for the first time since March so I stopped for a fried rice bowl with over-easy egg & was greeted like an old friend by the family who owns it.💜Got in a chapter before work too!

It‘s just been a long tiring week so today I am grateful that I was able to work from home today & that I bought poke (Hawaiian Style Ahi & California Roll) on the way home last night so that I could have a poke bowl with leftover basmati rice, fried onions & seaweed squares for lunch. I also got to start this book that I have been wanting to read—it‘s 3rd in the Unsub series & very dark. 😱😋🐟🍙

A great thriller. An American crime fiction that I liked, after a long time. Meg is my daughter's first name, and that's one more reason why I like this ❤️ A pick, definitely 👍

Got this book from Bookish Box- thank you! Not my typical read but I read it in one sitting. I was surprised at how many typos there were- publishers were clearly eager to get this book out. I didn‘t know it was a part of a series when I started it but it didn‘t detract from the story. It was easy- like watching an episode of Criminal Minds

I didn't know this book was part of a series when I picked it up, but I didn't have any trouble following along and I didn't need the previous books to get into it. I liked the book, which is a relief because I haven't liked much lately. It was suspenseful and the killer's profile was original. I will probably go back and read the other books. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

MidnightBookGirl Thrillers usually have the ability to suck me in and get my mind off other stuff (normally when I'm not gelling with books, it's because my anxiety is crazy). 5y

#MarchMadness #MarchTBR

Given my past several months reading stats, my March TBR is pretty aggressive but 5 are for book tour reviews & a few I have started already. (I did a bad job on keeping up with #thescentkeeperbuddyread but I just got the e-book so🤞🏻) Standouts for me are the tagged book (my hold came in today from the library!) & Alone in the Wild, two series I love. 😍 So this is what I hope to get to this month.
See any favorites?

I just wanted to stay home today to continue reading this without interruption, because I‘m SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE IT. 😍 So far, it‘s just as amazing as the first two, tightly-crafted and super-tense right from the get-go. But since I did have to come to work, I‘ll have to settle for getting an hour in Children‘s and then lunch. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #thedarkcornersofthenight #unsub #meggardiner

Meg Gardiner is my favorite Thriller author. This is the third novel in her UNSUB series and it‘s a good one. Caitlyn Hendrix is back and sharper than ever. I rated this story five stars out of five. The serial killer introduced in the story is the darkest and my favorite one in the series so far. #thedarkcornersofthenight #meggardiner
