Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives
Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives | Adam Cesare
19 posts | 12 read | 7 to read
Its an all-new horror classic about what happens when the truth is the last thing we want to believe, from Bram Stoker Awardwinner and master of thrills and chills, horror legend Adam Cesare. After barely making it out of the Kettle Springs cornfields alive, Quinns first year away at college should be safe and easy. All she wants is to be normal again. But instead, Quinn finds that her past wont leave her alone when she becomes the focus of online conspiracy theories that claim the Kettle Springs Massacre never happened. Its a deranged but relentless fantasy, and theres nothing Quinn can do to get people to hear the truthnot even on her own campus or in her own dorm room. So when a murderous clown attacks Quinn at a frat party while another goes after her father in Kettle Springs at the same time, Quinn realizes that the facts alone are never going to save her. Her only option is to go back into the cornfields, back where the nightmare began, to set the record straight the only way she knows how. Because when the truth gets lost in the lies, thats when people start to die. Clown in a Cornfield was 2020s Bram Stoker Award Winner for Superior Achievement in a Young Adult Novel. Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives is perfectly set to attract old and new fans to the series.

The sequel, set one year after the first book, follows three survivors of the Baypen Massacre. They just want to put the past behind them and live their goddamn lives, but their trauma and newfound fame won't allow it.

The woman known online as Red Nose Trixie was still screaming as Quinn let the the door swing closed.
There were a lot of names on her list, and Quinn wanted to be out of Maryland before dusk.

David Rush was an Eagle Scout.
Was.
In addition to his scout training, he had secured an ROTC scholarship for his first two years at Missouri State and frequently spent weekends camping with his uncle, Lt. John Rush, a retired medical officer in the United States Marine Corps.

If you loved the first one, you will definitely love this one. I really liked the first one and I really liked this one! I love how the author is able to make a slasher book feel like a slasher movie! I feel like that's hard to do, since I don't come by them often that are so well done. 5/5!

This is a pretty weak pick for me. It would have helped to check out the plot and characters from the first installment to jog my memory instead of just jumping into this one. Overall, this was still fun even if there are huge holes and issues with the plot…the twist near the end was a nice callback to the best scene from the original. However, it just hurts my brain and makes no sense in terms of the storyline! 🤔😵‍💫

I really, really enjoyed Clown in a Cornfield and this was definitely a worthy sequel. I loved our 3 main characters coming back to face madness again and enjoyed the new characters we met as well. Some of it was pretty predictable but it was still really satisfying as a teen slasher. I sincerely hope there are more installments!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #scarathlon2022 #teamslaughter

So behind in the #scarathlondailyprompts but trying to get caught up today 🤦🏼‍♀️. Day 10: Crime. So much crime (read: murder) is committed in this (and the prequel) that I couldn‘t think of a better pick! #scarathlon #teamslaughter

4 ⭐ This was one of my most anticipated reads this year. I am happy to say I was not disappointed. The three who survived last year are back. And we add a 4th that was unexpected. Frendo is back as well. In all honestly, that was expected. Our main girl, Quinn has gone off to school, but everyone knows who she is, and she just wants to be left alone. The boys, both rich guy and farmers boy survived, but didn‘t leave town.

LibrarianRyan One is trying to rebuild town, and the other is just trying to recover and prep for next time.
These three have become a product of fake news. There are people that believe them and believe what happened, but others who think they are the killers and they faked everything else. And these people who don‘t believe that the kids are the victims, they want their revenge. They usual social media to heat each other up, and eventually let loose.

LibrarianRyan What I like most about this book, is that it seems semi-plausible. In our society we have seen what internet rumors about real places and events can do. There are people who do not believe in the holocaust, our nation had a mass shotting in a pizza parlor because or “pizza-gate”, and there are still many who believe our government is running a secret underground child sex trafficking cabal. So.. yeah, parts of this are plausible. Loosely.

2y
LibrarianRyan This story was a ride. It had it predictable moments. And in the first book where everyone and anyone could die, there seems to be an invisible shield over some characters. It seems like they should have dies but keep escaping. So that is a bit annoying. 2y
LibrarianRyan Is this book as good as the last book. No. However, I wouldn‘t expect it to be. I enjoyed the ride, the further adventures. Yes, I did have some eye roll moments at the predictability of somethings, but overall, I was happy with what I was given. The author mentions briefly in his note at the end that maybe he should write a 3rd. Could it be done? Yes, I would love to see what the survivors do after that last scene on on the last page. 2y

🎶 Look what came in today 🎶 🤗!!! I‘m so excited to read this but I‘m going to try to wait until spooky season and maybe also try to fit in a reread of Clown in a Cornfield!

BookDragonNotWorm I forgot that was coming out! Thanks for the reminder! I could use a dose of Frendo right now! 🤡🔪 2y
candc320 You‘re welcome, @BookDragonNotWorm ! It‘s taking all my willpower not to throw out the TBR pile and just dig into it right now! 2y
