It took me absolutely forever to slog through this. I found it incredibly boring. I went into it expecting to be scared, since it‘s categorized as horror, but I assure you it is not as expected. This book was a huge disappointment.

The idea of this story was really quite compelling….but the delivery left me feeling mostly confused. The ending was possibly more so. It was presented in a way that felt like an acid trip gone wrong…like way wrong. Elisabeth Rodgers was a competent narrator.

Next row of my #readinglogsnake is Ghost Eaters by Clay Mcleod Chapman. It starts out slow, but quickly picks up when the ghosts start to appear. The ending left me haunted. Reader beware - this book has very heavy themes (drug use, overdose, abortion, loss). 4/5 ⭐️ #ARRCReads #BooksAndCrafts

Book 77🎧 4⭐️

A very creepy, very gory, ghost story.

What does it mean to be haunted…

Bonus points for having a ghost with my name(ish)😂

This story was INSANE! I loved it from start to finish. It was a gross and terrifying wild ride. I really could not predict how it was going to end and was very pleased with where it went.

I kept asking myself if I would want to take the pill and see a loved one again and after reading this, I think I‘ve settled on NO. Not if the consequences are anything like what happens in this book!

A creepy novel about hauntings and addiction. I liked it better than The Remaking in the way that it built tension. Some descriptions were pretty gruesome for the faint of heart. 4 stars. *This is meant to be a Pick, not a blurb. I have to stop doing that.*

I‘ve read mixed reviews of this but, I‘ve got to tell you, I thought it was really good! It has some pretty freaky ghosts/haunting, yes, but it‘s really more about the very real demons that haunt us (memories, addictions, twisted love and unhealthy relationships). I wasn‘t expecting that end of things but thought it made an already unusual ghost story that much deeper. Plus the ghosts that just want a taste of you really freak me out! 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

Great prose and a very well handled discussion about addiction. At the same time, I didn‘t find this terribly scary & it felt like there were too many ideas in there, none of which were neatly wrapped up.

OMG. That‘s it. No more books that feature fungi. This was gross and terrifying and why, oh why, did I keep reading it at night? I can‘t say much more without risking spoilers. I will not be sleeping for days and I may never allow another mushrooms, even a portobello, into my house ever again.

Cinfhen Oh no!!!!!! I love mushrooms!!! This review is too funny 😁 2y
DGRachel Also, this cover creeps me out so much that I don‘t want it in my house. I‘ll ship it out to the first person in the US that would like it. 2y
DGRachel @Cinfhen I‘m not going to be able to go to sleep. I am so freaked out. First Mexican Gothic, the that book by T. Kingfisher I read earlier this year, and now this one. This is by far the worst though (in the best way, obviously 🤣) 2y
