Short? It‘s under 100 pages! Yet still full of heart and a search for support during the first Christmas crazy holiday as a couple. Including beyond knowing about Charlie‘s mental health. I liked how the focus was on figuring out what to do calming down. No real high strung drama or fights. Arguments? Yes. But not full blood stuff; this family loves each other, even then. #lgbtq #mentalhealth

I honestly had planned to save this one for December...but yeah...we can all see how that turned out. Despite this one being a novella it was still a real and amazing little story. I'm a total fan of this author and how she handles such sensitive topics and still manages to make you smile.

I recently had the pleasure of reading “This Winter“ by Alice Osman, and I must say that it was a delightful little novella that warmed my heart despite its brevity. This winter-themed tale may be short, but it is undeniably cute and charming.

A novella set in the Heartstopper universe. Christmas day from several different perspectives, everyone wants the day to be normal but they don't know what that is or how to deal with the fact that it won't be the same. Very hopeful and uplifting book.

I loved falling back into the Heartstopper world! This novella takes place during Vol 4 of the graphic novels, on the Christmas after Charlie comes home from rehab. It's told from all three siblings' perspectives and deals with the emotional toll of the holidays. Everyone wants the day to be as normal as possible but no one seems to know exactly how. Supporting someone with a mental illness can be a struggle. ⤵️

I will read anything and everything pertaining to the Heartstopper series!

Content warnings for discussion of issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, and mental illness. In this novella, we get to see Christmas from the perspective of all three Spring siblings, Tori, Charlie, and Oliver. Nick also makes an appearance and is a wise and supportive boyfriend as usual, which is a nice counter to some deeply frustrating behavior from most of Charlie's family. I'll spend as much time in this universe as Oseman allows. 🎄

I haven‘t read the Solitaire novel, but that‘s a story told by Tori who is Charlie‘s older sister. And I know Charlie from the Heartstopper books.

In this novella we follow their family‘s Christmas celebration after some events that took place at the end of Heartstopper.

This novella comes with a trigger warning from the publisher/ author regarding mental illness including disordered eating and self harm.
