Thinking of visiting Portlandia? Discover all that this magical, dreamy city has to offer with PORTLANDIA: A Guide for Visitors. Inside you'll find: A comprehensive guide to all restaurants and food carts, including extensive use of symbols to signify Vegan, Freegan, Sea-gan, Wheelchair-Accessible, Skateboard-Accessible, Segway-Accessible, Clothing Optional, Polyamorous, LGBTQ, Dog-Friendly (No cats), Cat-Friendly (No dogs or mice) Mouse-Friendly (No cats or elephants), For Dogs (only), Regionally-Sourced Food, Regionally-Sourced Waitstaff, and House-Sourced Food (Born/dies on plate). A guide for dogs and dog owners, including a detailed map of the numerous dog parks the city has to offer. Very numerous and passionately maintained. An up-to-date guide to shopping, schools, and entertainment. A city activities guide for older adults who are stuck in perpetual early twentysomething-dom. A guide for getting around, either by foot, or by bicycle, the official car of Portlandia. Featured also are the 9 official bicycle rules of the road, drawn up by Spyke and his bike comrades. Not to be ignored! Come see Portlandia for yourself and see what inspired the hit show currently airing on IFC! *Please note, and point out to your best friend, that this book is printed on 130% recycled paper in a peanut-free, smoke-free plant by local workers in a friendly and fair environment, free of sudden noises and unnatural light.

I'm in Portland OR for a two-day work conference. Do you think I have enough reading material? 😂

If you have any Portland must-dos, let me know!

TEArificbooks Never been there, but Voodoo donut and Powell books are goals 3y
Jilly6183 @mdm139 two in those stack came from Powell's and I can confirm that it is amazing! I haven't done Voodoo Donuts because the locals kept telling me Blue Star was better and to their credit I'll dream about those donuts in the future 🤤😂 3y

I‘m heading to Oregon tomorrow! We‘re spending most of our time in Willamette doing wine tasting 🍷 but we will have two nights and a day in the city of Portland. It‘s my first time there and I‘ll obviously be visiting Powell‘s 🤗 Any other recommendations, bookish or otherwise?

Soubhiville @Hooked_on_books May have some ideas? 5y
Cinfhen Have fun!!!! 5y
Hooked_on_books Powell‘s, definitely (make sure you get a map at the info desk). If you‘re in Portland on the weekend, I recommend the Saturday market (which is poorly named and on Sundays, too) under the Burnside bridge. It‘s mainly crafts and food and a great place to wander. (edited) 5y
cariashley @Hooked_on_books ooh thank you so much! Will try to do the market on Saturday! 5y

Headed to Portland for the weekend! I‘m in a wedding so I won‘t have a ton of time, but beyond the obvious pilgrimage to Powell‘s, anything I just should not miss??

robinb Have fun, safe travels! 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker Besides Powell‘s, you could try one one the breweries in the Pearl or try Little Big Burger. They have great burgers and fries. There is also the Saturday market that happens down by the waterfront. 7y
WhatDeeReads Oh I️ Love Portland! I️ want to go back soon. 7y
cocomass @That-Bookish-Hiker thank you!! I will definitely be checking out that market tomorrow, rain or shine 😃 7y

Putting this out there randomly...I'll be in Portland next week if anybody wants to do a super-awkward-but-maybe-fun hangout. Comment here or message me on Goodreads.
