I kept putting off reading this book because of its length. Even when I started reading it two days ago, I lamented at how long it would take to read - HA. It was worth it and had to be this epic to truly capture the heartbreaking life of Emilia. Oh what a thought, and the author makes a fantastic case both in the story and in her note at the end. Book #114 in 2024

Suet624 I‘d kind of sworn off Picoult a while back but you are definitely making me lean toward finding this one. 5d

Just finished this one. Oh, what a lovely story - even better than I remembered. It is full of goodness and inspiration. It makes me cherish my own granddaughter even more. Isn‘t this a great orange cover? Amazing and so fiery! This is the 2nd in the Books of Bayern series by Shannon Hale and was terribly hard to find. I ended up buying the whole set. I wanted to read them anyway, so… It seemed kind of drawn out where it didn‘t need to be, but I did like it. #114 #BookSpinBingo #5 #FALLINTOREADING #SERIESSEPTEMBER #SERIES2021 #NOTSOSCARYATHON #BFC21 #6 #SuperSeptember

TheSpineView Awesome! 👍📖 3y
EadieB Love 💕 the colors in the cover too! Thanks for participating in the readathon! 3y
TheAromaofBooks I really love this series - I especially love how the last book comes around full circle and addresses some of the questions I had about the first book/world-building/magic. 3y
Allylu @TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed The Goose Girl - so much that I planned to read the entire series and look for other books by Shannon Hale. 3y

#114 of my year. This one is by one of my top favorite female writers, Victoria Schwab. I‘m listening to Johnny Cash on vinyl today🖤 I am SO ready for a relaxing weekend!

#114 my BOTM pick and so far I really enjoy most of the book picks from them. This ones a good short one so let‘s dive in!

Caffeinated_Reader Holy shit.
Okay first off when I started this book I was so confused and hated how the timeline was all mushed together. It was like reading a memory of a person that was still trying to remember it themselves. I am so happy that I kept reading.

Caffeinated_Reader This book is so worth digging in and being confused and wanting to rip your hair out over lol the story of the memory is SO worth knowing. Finding out everything and reading the pain and tragedy of it all is just so well delivered. It‘s such a tragic unraveling. Man. I highly recommend this book!!! 5y

2017 #114 NF audio I enjoyed the introduction with it's commentary on the similarity of Jesus and Buddha. Kerouac's interpretation is interesting and while I didn't like the narrator, enjoyable.

I hustled and read ahead on this, I was anxious to not end 2016 with 113 books read! So this is #114 and I'm happy to close out the year on such a lovely little book, full of descriptions of the old life of Maine. #newenglandahforlife
