May #bookspin - more thematic than title-specific. This is working for me in 2024 & I‘m sticking with it.

AshleyHoss820 Yes! This works for me as well! I‘m too much of a mood reader, so I need wiggle room. I love that this challenge leaves space for us like that! ☺️ Happy Reading! 2w
JackOBotts @AshleyHoss820 - couldn‘t agree more! It great at getting me to tackle the far too long TBR! 🤣 2w

#tlt #threelistthursday @dabbe

I wasn't going to participate originally, because I didn't want to rack my brain for 80's pop songs, but I thought of a category I could narrow down enough, soundtrack scores 😁

🎷 Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone from The Mission
🐍 Theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams
🦇 Theme from Batman (1989) by Danny Elfman

TheBookHippie John Williams is fantastic! 2w
CatLass007 I‘m not familiar with The Mission. Was it based on a book? I think you‘ve done an excellent job of narrowing down your category. I‘m fairly certain that if I started thinking of music from the 70s or 80s or any other decade, I‘d have those songs running through my head for the rest of the year. John Williams‘ Raiders of the Lost Ark theme is very memorable. But I remember very vividly sitting in the theater watching the maze that became (cont)⬇️ 2w
CatLass007 the Batman symbol and almost physically being pulled in by the music. Not long ago I was having a conversation with my brother about that scene and I said something about Seal singing Kiss from a Rose for the movie and he had no idea who or what I was talking about. Everyone thought Michael Keaton was going to be a terrible Batman, but he was fabulous! 2w

As expected the guy ended up with the girl by the end.....
The end felt a bit rushed to finish but a overall good read.

It been a while since I read a book over 600 page's but I did enjoy this one and it's very different from the film, as usual!

I found another book shop today in Newcastle
The book Greengrocers.
They had a great clearance section outside so I got this chunkster for $4.
I was a bit disappointed in there true crime section but we can't have everything in life.

Repost for @TheAromaofBooks

I may regret this, because obviously I don't have enough buddy reads going on 😂, but is anyone interested in reading the Trixie Belden books with me? I'm thinking similar to the Nancy Drew readalong - one book a month with a few discussion posts? Since we read ND in the first half of the month & discuss on the 15th, I'm thinking Trixie in the second half & discuss on the 30th?

If yes, start this month or in April?

TheAromaofBooks Thank you for the repost!! 2mo
curiouserandcurioser @TheAromaofBooks i would reread Trixie Belden with you, but would want to start in April:) 2mo

#ItTakesAllKinds #WithMap gotta love a book with a map! I don‘t think even in my hiking prime I could walk this backbone trail of California, as the map indicates Colin Fletcher walked north from Yuma to Oregon from March 8th to September 8th. book was published in 1964, not sure what year he walked it.

Eggs Amazing trek👏🏻👏🏻 2mo
Bookwomble Wikipedia says he did the walk in 1958 😊🥾🥾 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thousand-Mile_Summer 2mo

1. Yes, I had a few goals. I met my GR goal & completed my library‘s book challenge. I didn‘t finish all my bookspin books but got close.
2. 5 ⭐️ for The World Record Book of Racist Stories because the audio version earned it an extra ⭐️
3. Don‘t think I have any series planned for next year
