Eggbeater I had a stressful day yesterday, and I am using this weekend to recover. No news, take-out, PBS, books, online book club, and snuggling with my dog. If I happen to get some chores done, that would be a bonus, but I'm not pressuring myself. 2w

Librarybelle I think I can finally rest for the rest of the weekend! I still have minor chores to do, and always lots of kitty things to do, but I don‘t have to rush. What a week! Though, once I sit down, I may fall asleep. 😂 2w

JenniferEgnor Hanging in there. Things to be grateful for and focus on today: gifted more books to my bookworm hospice patient this morning; a nice storm visited us at home; tacos tonight with friends. 2w

willaful I'm missing my husband, who's been away for a week helping his sister recover from surgery. Spending too much time online and watching too much t.v. :-( 2w

Librarybelle Good morning! It‘s been a crazy week—I started a WFH temp job to help pay for Zeke‘s medical bills, and it‘s been crazy. I like the flexibility to work whenever, but the work is not always available, despite a requirement to work a certain number of hours per week. I need flexibility with Zeke‘s care, so I‘ll see how long I can handle this. 😂 It has really cut back on my reduced reading time. Hopefully I can get a good rhythm soon. 3w

Librarybelle Thanks, @AllDebooks and @Bookwormjillk ! I am a planner and having to check for work several times a day at all hours of the day is not a good practice for a planner. 😂 That‘s on me. I guess I‘ll consider it a growth opportunity. 3w

Roary47 I‘m going to try to take back my house in cleaning. Finding my work life balance is always hard for me. I have forms to complete for my kids school, I have work still to do for my job, but today is audiobooks that my library holds are almost up on and cleaning my house that got out of control through the work/school week. 😅 3w

melissajayne Had friends over on Thursday evening and I was just so drained yesterday. Did basically nothing. I just sat in my chair and watched stuff on my TV and listened to podcasts. Had a good sleep that I just woke up from and feel surprisingly rested and content. 3w

AllDebooks @melissajayne sometimes you just need a timeout to recharge. That's what I'm doing today. 😅 3w

dabbe I can't believe how jet-lagged I still am from my trip (4 hours ahead in NB). Add to that, I need to relearn how to handle the heat. Since I've been home it's been 113, 115, 118, and 115. The dogs are grumpy because it's too hot to even walk outside. So, I need to stop bitching and find the good. I have a home with AC and pups who love me. What more do I need? 💙🩵💙 3w

Deblovestoread I have had a busy, although mostly fun, three days since Wednesday. Even the DMV, while not fun, was easy with an appointment. I‘m so glad to be home today with just Pippin and some quiet time. 3w

Librarybelle Thanks, @dabbe and @Deblovestoread ! Zeke is doing very well. He had a really rough patch a couple of weeks ago but has really bounced back. He also stopped eating the one food he had been eating but wanted a novel protein food he ate before his diagnosis, and he is so improved on this, acting mischievous at times. He still likes eating during the night, though, so I‘d love some restful sleep at some point! But, I‘d rather this than not have him. 3w

Aims42 Happy Saturday!! No big plans except for doing the weekly grocery shopping. They‘re saying rain and thunderstorms for my area so I‘m taking that as a sign today should be a chill reading day 🤓 1mo

Librarybelle Good morning! It‘s been another rollercoaster week, both personally and in the world. But, I‘m hoping to sleep this weekend (hardly any sleep the past few nights), read, and hang with cats. Because, you know, cats make everything better! 1mo

Sace I report back to work July 30 so I am spending every moment I can reading. Work thoughts creep in and I have to quash them. I‘m already thinking about the August TBR since traditionally I do NO reading in August and I don‘t want that to happen this year. Only thing on the agenda today is lunch at my favorite Thai restaurant. 1mo

kspenmoll I am back home from a few heavenly days in Mendon, VT. On my porch with coffee & a book, welcoming the morning.A break from the heat! Plan to walk with my neighbor after coffee, the laundry catch up,bring book donations to library. The afternoon id free for me. 1mo

Tonight a neighbor has invited us on his boat to see fireworks. I‘m sort of looking forward to that but also feeling drained. Husband really wants to go though so I‘ll make the effort. ElizaMarie @AllDebooks I didn't work the last few days at my full-time job, but.. All the staff were struggling; there was some sort of water break in the ER, and we were on diversion. And I was told it was horrendous! No regular bathroom use for 48hrs (they had to use the disposable liner toilets and all! 2mo

I drank a delightful cup of coffee and may make a cup of clevr mushroom and coffee- tastes great and helps me focus!!!! We went to the DC Zoo today & found out about bird friendly coffee. Did not know there was such a thing. My oldest wants to go to grad school & do bird research. He‘s already encouraged us to buy plants & flowers that are more native to the area to encourage more pollinators. He‘s becoming my conscience more when shopping or purchasing things.
