I loved American War, so I decided to sign up for El Akkad‘s narrated by Dion Graham! 😍

When I saw The Cult of We was narrated by my fav Therese Plummer, I had to order it.

Julia Whelan narrates Perversion of Justice about Jeffery Epstein, and I only added it after the effusive blurb from Ronan Farrow.

I forgot I was getting Until Proven Safe! 😂

Cinfhen I‘m not sure if you‘re gonna love this one @BarbaraBB but the science is easily explained and I appreciate that. You feel smart for understanding, not dumb for not knowing🤪🤪 @julesG and that takes skill as a writer. Andy Weir is quite a genius 🙌🏻 (edited) 3y

julesG I'm pretty sure Weir would have made a great science teacher. He understands that some people struggle with science and explains so that everyone grasps it. And that, as you said, shows genius. 3y

Megabooks His friendship with Rocky is just so fun to watch unfold!! That is the best part of the book, IMO!!! 3y

Megabooks @BarbaraBB While the science is well explained to a native English speaker, I think it may be hard for someone who doesn‘t have a science vocabulary in English. (It is explained to what we would call a “high school level” - what you‘d know by 16 or 17, but if you‘re rusty in English science or didn‘t learn these concept in English, it may be harder.) 3y

Third Pole: Mystery, Obsession, and Death on Mount Everest | Mark Synnott

I‘m enjoying this book SO MUCH. Maybe even more than Into Thin Air. It feels a bit more personal. What really amazes me is the danger the bottlenecking getting down the mountain causes after reaching the summit. Inexperienced climbers have no business being on the mountain. Climbing Everest has become a bucket-list thrill for wealthy people who pay exuberant fees to have others do the brunt of the work and take a major risk on their behalf.

Librarybelle That is interesting! I love to see how we all process our reading differently. I enjoy listening to fluff fiction that I can easily listen to and not worry I miss a big plot twist. Perfect escape, though I still find myself so caught up in the story that I sometimes forget I‘m in the middle of cleaning! 😂 3y

This book is cheerful and I definitely want a copy as a resource guide. I think I‘m gonna start gifting this to all new brides, homeowners and college students too!!! 3y
