Spent a couple of hours reading this book with the waves crashing as the soundtrack. Life is good! First book from #elinhilderbrand I read. I think I like her. #beachreads #historicalfiction #summerreading #BOM

I found an adorable little book shop today and i might have picked up a couple things

I started reading Crazy Rich Asians last night for a book of the month read for an online goodreads bookclub and I'm really enjoying it but I've read so much today I'm starting to feel a bit burnt out yet at the same time I want to read more. Plus all the food decriptions are making me very hungry

#BoM

Psychsquirrel The trilogy is so good! I learned so much about their food and traditions at the same time I enjoyed the soap opera. The third one, Rich People Problems, was my favorite 🍲 🍝 5y

My choices for Book of the Month! I chose The City of Brass, The English Wife, and The Wife Between Us. What did you all choose? Also, since I‘m new to BOTM, how fast do boxes ship out and take to get?

swishandflick They ship quick when the first of the month doesn't fall on the weekend or near a holiday! You'll probably get a shipping email tomorrow! (edited) 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @swishandflick good to know! 😊 7y
Jess7 I chose The Wife Between Us 7y

Reviewsbylola If you already ordered it should be shipped tomorrow! They use third party shipping though, which in my experience takes awhile. I got all of the selections except Brass. 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @Reviewsbylola thanks for letting me know! So, I‘m thinking it probably be here in a week or two from thinking of my other experiences with past subscriptions that used 3rd party shipping. At least I have a few books to look forward to reading once my semester ends! 😊 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @Jess7 yay! I‘ve heard amazing things about it. 😊 7y

Which book should I choose for my add on for #BOM? I usually am not a thriller/mystery/suspense fan, but want to push myself out of my comfort zone. #bookofthemonth #choices #help #theenglishwife #thewifebetweenus #botm

Rachbb3 I think I'm going with The English Wife, it sounds good! 7y
Alfoster Ok, but The Wife Between Us was so good!(but keep in mind I love thrillers)!😍 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @Rachbb3 it does sound super good. It sounds like it has a Rebecca vibe. I was going to choose The City of Brass as my book this month, then add an add on since this month is free for me. 7y

The_Heeler_Booklife @Alfoster I‘ve heard great things about it too! I heard it will be a movie as well. I usually stick to fantasy books and really need to start branching out. 7y
Alfoster This one might seem a little like fantasy!😆😆 7y
melrailey I thoroughly enjoyed The Wife Between Us. 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @melrailey good to know. 😊 I heard it has good plot twists. 7y
Kappadeemom I loved The Wife Between Us! 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @Kappadeemom yay! That‘s awesome. Would you recommend it people who don‘t usually read suspense? 7y
Kappadeemom @allthingskayla I think so. But it was twisty 😜 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @Kappadeemom good to know. Twisty can be a good thing though. 7y
stuck.in.the.stacks I an strugging deciding between these as well. I think I'll pick The Wife Between Us but the cover of the English Wife is gorgeous and also sounds so interesting! 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @felinesandfiction the English Wife gives me Rebecca vibes. And I am a huge fan of Daphne Du Maurier‘s Rebecca. I decided I am going to get The English Wife, The Wife Between Us, and The City of Brass. I have a book credit and my husband said he will pay for the third book as a present. 7y
stuck.in.the.stacks @allthingskayla thanks for the perspective. I am still torn. I think The Chalk Man sounds fascinating as well! I also have a few credits so I'm trying to decide between these two and the Chalk Man with City of Brass as my BOTM pick and two others as extras. I am surprised that BOTM has so many suspense/thrillers picked for December. 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @felinesandfiction I honestly don‘t know what genres they go with every month. I do agree that there are a lot of suspense/thrillers this month. Usually I avoid that genre, but I‘ll just go out of my comfort zone. At least they have a fantasy book in the mix this month. 7y
stuck.in.the.stacks @allthingskayla I feel like they nornally have more of a variety but I'm okay with going out if my comfort zone as well. I had my fingers crossed that City of Brass would be their fantasy pick. I am so stoked about it! 7y
The_Heeler_Booklife @felinesandfiction a few days before I saw the spoilers I saw some people talking about The City of Brass, so I was hoping it would be a pick this month. 7y
TheBookStacker I really enjoyed the wife between us 7y

Pickpick

Despite packing, moving, and prepping the old house to rent, I made time to read! I had a hard time deciding the BOM, because while I enjoyed Pretty Girls, I also relished Rebecca Solnit's "A Field Guide to Getting Lost", and Rupi Kaur's "Milk and Honey". #BOM #recap #prettygirls

DragonSadhana Oh, and Monstress! That's an amazing story with gorgeous illustration that could have easily contended for BOM. Sheesh. So many good reads. 8y
Chessa Wow, kudos for finding time to read while moving! That is some advanced level commitment. 🤘 8y
DragonSadhana @Chessa Thank you! It was my solace in quiet moments. 8y
