“Shall I ever write again one of those sentences that gives me intense pleasure?” (Among her next to last entries before her suicide)

So sad how she considered herself to be a poor writer. She considered writing to be her therapy. She felt she had to do it in order to live. This is a theme in her books especially “To the Lighthouse” which was autobiographical.

Prompt: #DearDiary

#Fallings

TheBookHippie I adore her writing. 4d

This was a quiet short story told from the viewpoint of a snail. Admittedly, I read it to bump up my “books read“ count for the year. But I enjoyed it. And it makes me to want to pick up another of hers. I've been contemplating a re-read of Mrs. Dalloway. Perhaps now is the time.

📸 I've never been to Kew Gardens but it looks inviting.

I read these for the #192025 challenge, and they were both a quick & delightful way to bang out two years. Mrs Harris and the supporting characters were likeable, though I do think New York was a little less charming than the first. In Paris, we see Mrs Harris really impacting the various lives she encounters, where some of NY was swift mentions of people. Ultimately, I recommend both of you need something light & uplifting these days.

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it.

Lighthearted, humorous, endearing, and uplifting, this book was an absolute delight. A perfect escape from today‘s crazy world. I‘m so glad I chose this for the #FictionalTraveler #BigCity prompt this month!
