So, I‘m very behind in reviews for June & procrastination has continued its hold on me but until I get them done, here‘s my June recap. Work, life, a dead Kindle & family visits mean I didn‘t get as much read as I wanted, but I ended up finishing 12 books + 3 more in process.

I did manage to finish books for #SundayBuddyRead #NancyDrewBR #EBBR #BobWhiteBuddies #FictionalTravel #SeasonalCozies #CampLitsy2025 #AuthorAMonth & 2 #Roll100 books ⬇️

DebinHawaii … with 3 books I‘m finishing up in July including ones for #SheSaid & my final #Roll100 pick + one for Leadership at work. My top 3 favorites were Starter Villain, Wild Dark Shore & Ash, although I think that I Who Have Not Known Men will be right up there. Hopefully I‘ll get the reviews posted soon, along with my July TBR. 4d
Librarybelle You still read well for June! 4d
Ruthiella I agree with @Librarybelle ! Good results despite the challenges. 👍 4d
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Fantastic month!! 4d
julieclair Still a good month! I didn‘t get to Starter Villain in June. Hoping I can fit it in to July. 🤞 4d

#JuneSpecials Day 28: Loads of #Foodie references in this novel which I thoroughly enjoyed reading - super want to taste jollof rice now! Finished it for #CampLitsy2025 and very much looking forward to the discussion. Some Dennys goodness while in ‘Murrica with family.

ChaoticMissAdventures Jollof rice is super yummy!! If you don't have any West African restaurants near it isn't very hard to make (I say as someone who hates cooking). The key is the spices added before the rice cooks. But I always recommend a professional if possible 😀. There is a big debate throughout W. Africa of which country makes it best I personally cannot decide. 1w
Eggs Excellent 👌🏼 1w
BarbaraBB @ChaoticMissAdventures Great suggestion about the adding of the spices! I remember another book too about where the best Jollof comes from but I can‘t remember what book that is. 1w

#JuneSpecials Day 26: Can stand for #ChocPudding #ChocolatePudding but more like Chilis molten chocolate cake - paired with the third book in the Ember in the Ashes quartet which I simply devoured while in Seattle a week ago. I am not starting Book 4 yet so I can prolong my stay in Sabaa Tahir‘s world. Will get to the #CampLitsy2025 and #EuropaCollective titles first.

Eggs Oh I remember this cake from Chilis! It‘s been 15+ years… 2w

Pickpick

A book of two parts where I loved each part individually. She writes beautifully, but I‘m not sure I understand their connectedness even reading all the comments from the #Camplitsy2025 discussions

I read her previous book and will read more of her in the future

Teresereading Great cover art 3w
squirrelbrain At least you‘re one of the few people who enjoyed it! 3w

Left me wondering about my lack of sanity. Is middle-aged syndrome the reason for my actions? The continuity changed so much; I didn't know if I was coming or going. #CampLitsy2025 @squirrelbrain @Megabooks @BarbaraBB

kspenmoll Yup! 😀 1mo
Megabooks I think we are all going to have very different thoughts about this one. I can't wait to read everyone's theories!! 1mo

#JuneSpecials Day 6: #DDay is explored here with the seed bank vault and deciding which of the seeds will have to go - and which ones are needed should the apocalypse come and wipe out humanity. A beautiful beautiful book. Happy that it is part of #CampLitsy2025 - gearing up to be one of my faves.

Eggs The beverages look amazing 🤩 1mo

Uh. . .

What WAS that?!

Cannot wait to discuss this! #CampLitsy2025
#June2025 Book51 (and yes, the plant is called Mouse Barley (aka Foxtail) which the bane of dog paws 🐾 everywhere and it is horrifically prolific this year in my neighborhood!)

BkClubCare Notes to self: really impressed with the writing, the style, the sentence structure and vocabulary. It felt like either 2 versions of a story, or unreliable narrator, or delusions vs exploring alternate realities, or two different stories!! But wowza. Never bored (tho I could imagine a few of my reader friends HATING it 😂) 1mo
Ruthiella My backyard is full of foxtails. It‘s a never ending battle in the summer and the weeds usually win. We‘ve been to the vet already once to get Penny‘s ears checked. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures Foxtails are a cure!! I am really curious for people on this book... Have you ever read Mona Award? 1mo

squirrelbrain I‘m looking forward to the discussions, and hopefully some answers too! 🤪 1mo
BkClubCare @ChaoticMissAdventures - yes! I have read 2 of Awad‘s, I think. She seems more straightforward or I plugged into her whacky more? All good. I liked Kitamura‘s prior book - similar vibe. 1mo
BkClubCare @ChaoticMissAdventures - the stickers get into Copper‘s paws like magnets. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @BkClubCare I meant curse! Silly autocorrect. I don't have dogs but I walk my bff's often and learned about them when she got the dog. Awful things! I just found the dream like quality of Audition to feel (to me) similar to cannot wait to discuss! 1mo

8 books in May! Can you tell I‘m between jobs? 😂

I‘m also halfway through Audition for #CampLitsy2025. Finding it a little tough going as I dislike the main character. I‘ll probably push through to finish it this week and start on something queer for Pride month.

#storygraphwrapup #storygraph

BkClubCare Oh, please do finish Audition because I am betting the discussion to be wild! 1mo
Kitta @BkClubCare oh Im going to finish it! I‘m just debating finishing before the first discussion or holding off and reading the second half next week! 1mo
BkClubCare @Kitta - well . . . I would wait then. I had to return to the library. 1mo
Kitta @BkClubCare I have two weeks left on Libby fingers crossed I can read it before returning, it if I start again Sunday lol. I read pretty quick! Should be doable even if I‘m not enjoying it hahah 1mo

A few more #camplitsy2025 books have made their way into my greedy little book hoarding hands thanks to Indigo‘s 20% off for teachers sale ( and my plum plus discount too 🎉 ) and my guilty pleasure #alihazelwood 🌶️🌶️

rachaich Really want to read Tilt 😊😊😊 1mo
mcctrish @rachaich I‘m sad because I wanted to buy Woodworking too but they sold the last copy a few days ago 1mo
rachaich @mcctrish that also sounds brilliant 😄 1mo
