I grabbed a few Goosebumps books from the library for nostalgia and I‘m going to let this one fulfill my #finishinaday prompt for #booked2020

The story was alright. Michael‘s sister was honestly the worst - I felt real sympathy for him as she always got him into trouble lol. He ends up cursed and de-aging except it was more time just moved backwards rather than him de-aging in the present year. Still an ok read though

BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘ve never read these but I‘m all for nostalgia reads right now! Good job! 💙📚👊🏻 4y

This is a wonderful little book! Why didn't I get to read it when I was little? Most of my friends criticize its simplicity and obviousness, but I think it's perfectly OK when children's book presents its ideas clearly. And those ideas aren't childish at all. My ebook had beautiful photos of seagulls, and I spent a lovely evening with it! 🕊️ #booked2020 #finishinaday @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

Howard_L It seemed everyone was reading this when I was in grade school, everyone but me. Although I did get around to it years later. (edited) 5y

Rough day, but this was an unexpected delight. I hadn‘t been planning on doing April‘s #authoramonth as I expected Edith Wharton to be stuffy/polite/heavy. Turns out not. This short story about a snooty bookclub was laugh-out-loud funny & very clever (but not TOO clever!). I need to go back & read the middle bit again, to peer a little more into Xingu‘s depths.

Will definitely read more Wharton -but might head for Mapp & Lucia in the meantime.

rockpools Also decided to join in with season 2 of #Booked2020 #FinishInADay (better late than never!) @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage @cinfhen 5y
JackOBotts A snooty book club?! SOLD! I‘ll have to add this. My exposure to Wharton was really just a HS assignment 5y
Daisey Of the Wharton I‘ve read, this is my favorite. 5y

batsy I've seen so many positive reviews so I definitely should read it soon! Plus, it's short! I hope your day got better ❤️ 5y
Cinfhen Yay!! Welcome 🥳and this novella sounds delightful!!! #stacked 💚 5y
rockpools @JackOBotts EF sounds much more like what I was expecting. Did you enjoy it? 5y
rockpools @Daisey Isn‘t it fun?! 5y
rockpools @batsy It‘s super-short - and I think you‘d enjoy it. How are you doing? 5y
rockpools @Cinfhen Thank you 😊. I was finding challenges stressful last year - right now I‘m thinking ‘just give me something to tick off‘ 🤷🏻‍♀️ And I think you‘d enjoy this - use it for a chuckle between your heavier reads! 5y
Cinfhen Yay!!! I also need to read a book about a #BookClub for #PoP20 so it‘s perfect 👌🏽 5y
batsy @RachelO I'm muddling along; just a lot of anxiety like a lot of people are feeling. How are you? 5y
rockpools @batsy About the same. Finding it so hard to concentrate on work then feeling v ungrateful because I do actually have safe work. But muddling along, as you say. 5y
JackOBotts @RachelO - I don‘t remember much of Ethan Frome, to be honest. I think I remember winter...and that‘s about it. The only other recollection may be a #spoiler of sorts, so I don‘t want to mention it... 5y

#booked2020 #finishinaday

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Told through letters to her cousin, a young Jewish girl tells of her journey from Russia to America in 1919. Inspired by the authors aunt own immigrant story.

Bookwormjillk Sounds good! 5y
mrp27 @Bookwormjillk It was. I read it with the mg buddy read group. Middle grade fiction is one of my favorite genres. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Nice! I might read some MG ... adult books are too real ... 5y
Cinfhen I‘ve heard this book is really special 5y
