Another #GreatAmericanRead book read, and as generally is the case with the books on this list, I really liked it! I can imagine this would make a great movie. Lots of action and adventure, with even some romance thrown in.

A quote from another review sums it up quite nicely:

"Cross Lassie with E.T., add a touch of The Wolfen and a dash of The Godfather, and you get a sense of some of the ingredients in this supernatural thriller."

inthegreensandblues I would like to reread this. It's been 20+ years but I remember loving it! I was a huge Koontz fan in my teens. 2mo
DaveGreen7777 Awww, I love doggies, too! 🥰 🐶 2mo
RachelAmphlett I hadn‘t heard of this one, so thanks - I don‘t like his full throttle horror stories but I love the Odd Thomas books! 2mo

TheDaysGoBy I could do with a reread of this. I also have the movie and from what I remember it leaves a bit to desired 2mo
JenFowler @TheDaysGoBy There is a movie?! 2mo
TheDaysGoBy @JenFowler Yep. I have the movie on DVD. It even came with a sequel. Don‘t remember much about it though lol 2mo

So good! It's true to me that this series is as iconic as Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. The underlying themes of virtue and good vs evil resonates deeply. I love Aslan.
Finding out how the story all began is so satisfying.

And now I'm off to watch the movie! #booktomovie
Agatha Christie is definitely an amazing writer with a gift for mysteries. I enjoyed this book quite a lot. It had great characters, a solid plot and a well executed mystery with lots of murders! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great #middlegraderead that has a different voice. I enjoyed it. I now see why it was part of the #GAR list. It touches upon some difficult situations without making it seem sappy or making the end result unrealistic. A #mustread.

Book 18 of #MountTBR - I finished this around Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it, even though it is terrifying at times. It was extra enjoyable because it is one my husband has read also and we were able to discuss it. #GAR #GreatAmericanRead

SimplyShelia My niece and great-nephew both recently read it and I was so excited to have someone to discuss it with, now people understand all my conversational references to it lol 12mo
Bookzombie @Shelia That‘s great! It‘s the same for my husband as I get the references now. 12mo

I may be getting over my head, but I am going to commit to some reading challenges for the upcoming year. I will do the Read Harder Challenge from Book Riot again, #Booked2019, narrow down the #GreatAmericanRead list, read at least five chunksters, and attempt #popsugar. I will probably double dip when I can. If I can't handle it because of parenting or teaching gets in the way, I'll stay with the ReadHarder. I should make some exercise goals.

Wow...what a story. Now I see why it was #GAR pick. A story about an introverted teenager, Miles Halter, going off to boarding school to seek for his “Great Perhaps.” On his adventure he makes friends, gets into trouble, falls in love, experiences loss, and learns a lot about himself. A great story.
